One of the area's premier marinas, EastPort Marina is located along Illinois Route 116, at mile marker 164.5 on the Illinois River. Rated Four Anchors in the Quimby Cruising Guide, this East Peoria marina is presently lined with 280 slips ranging from 25 to 50 feet in length. Boaters are welcome to stop and spend a few days enjoying the marina and its many amenities, as well as the entertainment opportunities in East Peoria and the the Peoria area.
River Trail of Illinois
This 10-foot wide asphalt trail winds 4.8 miles along the former Illinois Terminal Railroad Co. path. Build in 1991, the River Trail provides a safe scenic route for outdoor recreation year round, winter weather permitting. The trail affords patrons the opportunity to experience the natural preservation of wildflowers, grasses, trees and wildlife. With direct access at the Park Administration Center, Bunnell field, and Taylor Street ball diamonds, and in close proximity to Veterans Park, Central Jr. High, West Park, and local restaurants, the River Trail offers something for everyone!
2015 Flying Gish Festival and Bow Fishing Tournament

This event will include cash prizes, activities on both sides of the river, educational displays, and local chefs preparing cuisine using the flying fish. The tournament is for registered competitors only, however, the additional activities are open to the public. The money raised from this event will go to support the Union Sportsman Alliance and the Preservation of the Peoria Labor Temple. All partners of this event support The Flying Fish Festival as one piece of a larger effort to deal with an Illinois River invasive species: Asian Carp. This Flying Fish Festival gives locals and visitors an opportunity to experience the excitement both on the water, shore and on the plate.

Powerton Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area
The lake was built on the floodplain of the Illinois River in 1971 by Commonwealth Edison Company as a cooling reservoir for the fossil-fuel power plant. Today, the completely diked, 1,426-acre lake is leased for visitor hunting and fishing.
Spring Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area
Contains a large bluff overlooking a long, narrow lake. Camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, hiking, and hunting opportunities provide a vast recreational experience. Concession and boat rentals are also available.
