Established in 1915, Timber Creek is not the ‘run of the mill’ golf course. With gentle rolling fairways, it was designed to give the golfer ample room off the tee while giving the player a challenge of a lie that may be slightly uphill or downhill. The closer you get to our bent grass greens, you will find sand traps placed by the architect in places that add to the overall character of the course. With new sand, you will find it as accommodating as one could. Our greens at Timber Creek were designed for game improvement and the scratch golfer alike.
Westlake Village Golf Course is a prime public golf course in the Rockford Illinois area. The course is situated on 190 rolling acres just west of Rockford in the Westlake Village Subdivision. Westlake Village Golf Course offers some of the areas best golf with challenging par 3's and demanding par 5's.
The 18-hole "Atwood Homestead" course at the Atwood Homestead Golf Course facility in Rockford, Illinois features 7,470 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 74.3 and it has a slope rating of 120 on Blue grass. Designed by Charles Maddox, the Atwood Homestead golf course opened in 1971.
We are a 35 acre family owned orchard with approximately 5,000 apple trees. You have a choice of either picking your own apples, or purchasing the apples that we pick daily. Tutty’s Crossing Trailhead provides easy access to the Jane Addams Trail and to the Pecatonica Prairie Trail (under development). It is located on the banks of the Pecatonica River. A bridge, part of the Pecatonica Prairie Trail, crosses the river and provides scenic views. The Trailhead provides parking, a boat ramp, and walking area. The Edward F.Vassallo Land and Water Reserve is a privately owned reserve located adjacent to White Pines State Forest. It was designated in 2014 as a state Land & Water Reserve by the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission and includes 130 acres of native wildflowers, plants, grasses, creek bottom, habitat for native wildlife, birds and insects and forest areas. Spring Creek, a tributary of Pine Creek, flows through the reserve. Today and forever, this land will remain in its natural condition as part of the Illinois Nature Preserve System and is a gift to present and future generations as a place where native plants and animals can thrive under wise stewardship and protection from harm. The Fairways Golf Course is a serene 18-hole golf course designed by Perry Maxwell, ASGCA, which is open to the public and cherished by those in the Rochelle area since 1929. We are host to immaculate tree-lined fairways and an exceptional restaurant, Beacon on The Green, for lunch, dinners and banquets.
Taylor Park was originally a trotting-horse track and gives this park its oval shape and flat terrain. There are picnic areas shelters, playground areas, a three-diamond lighted softball complex, a tennis court, a basketball court, and a sand volleyball court.
