NW IL Art Fest
Juried art fest with artists arriving from throughout the tri-state area to showcase and sell their work. Food vendors will be on hand to add to the festivities.
Tour of Galena
Featuring three bicycle races: A time trial and a road race on Saturday and a downtown criterium on Sunday. Riders can choose to do one or all of the events, but the big prize money will be for those who do all three stages and earn points toward the omnium title.

Apple River Canyon State Park - Thompson/Salem Units
This 1,150 acre area allows hunting, fishing; no boating/biking. See postings/fact sheets at registration. Sign in/out at lots #1 or #2. The vegetative cover at the site is a mixture of steep timbered slopes and bluffs with grassland, row crops and hay fields predominate on ridge tops. The topography can be severe especially bordering the Apple River.
