2015 Flying Gish Festival and Bow Fishing Tournament
Weigh in is at 2pm at Bass Pro Shops in East Peoria IL. $120/team of up to four Activities: 5am bowfishing tournament begins from Bass Pro Shops 10am-3pm-Flying Fish Festival-Bass Pro Shops Parking Lot Taste Testing, Entertainment, Kids Activities, IL. This event will include cash prizes, activities on both sides of the river, educational displays, and local chefs preparing cuisine using the flying fish. The tournament is for registered competitors only, however, the additional activities are open to the public. The money raised from this event will go to support the Union Sportsman Alliance and the Preservation of the Peoria Labor Temple. All partners of this event support The Flying Fish Festival as one piece of a larger effort to deal with an Illinois River invasive species: Asian Carp. This Flying Fish Festival gives locals and visitors an opportunity to experience the excitement both on the water, shore and on the plate.

Comlara Park Visitor's Center
This enviromental education facility houses permanent audio/visual wildlife displays, artifacts originating from the site and a rotating summer exhibit.

The campground is very clean and quiet. There are many features, such as an in-ground pool, a large pavilion, a play area for children, a small store and a dog walk area. There is plenty of shade in this campground. They provide 30 and 50 AMP service.

Pavillion on the Lagoon at Mineral Springs Park
This beautiful building built in 1905, serves as the focal point of our community and is available for your group, family or organization's use. Comfortably seating 70 people, the Pavilion is surrounded with windows overlooking the lagoon and a large, wrap-around porch. Weddings, anniversary parties, baby showers, business meetings, and family get-together's are popular. This historic building is equipped with a kitchen area with counters, microwave and refrigerator, air conditioning, and tables and chairs. The Pavilion is handicapped accessible.
Exposition Gardens, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide unique opportunities for diverse educational and recreational experiences, as an integrated partner in the community. Located in northwest Peoria, it provides an excellent location for the Heart of Illinois Fair each July. Our 80-acre facility contains multiple buildings that can be rented during all other times of the year. Easily accessible from I-74 and I-474, Expo Gardens offers miles of free parking, an arena, covered pavilion and a 14,000 square-foot temperature-controlled exhibit hall. Several 50' x 150' buildings can be rented for smaller events and a large, open, unobstructed area can accommodate your truck/auto sales or outdoor flea market. Several areas support wireless internet service and most buildings are handicapped accessible. We can help you with snack bar service as well as assistance in decorating, catering and equipment rentals. We also have a full hook up camping area on the property. This horse-drawn carriage service is available for scenic tours, weddings and other occasions. Equipped for all seasons. Evening rides in downtown Peoria Fridays and Saturdays during April through mid-October. Thursday through Saturday rides during June through August. Pick-up points at Hotel Pere Marquette and The Landing. $20 for two adults and $5 for each additional person. Children under 10 ride free. Carriage rides available 7 p.m. through midnight. Quail Meadows Golf Course
Exceptional conditioning makes this championship par 72 course a must for golfers of all abilities in the Peoria area. The front nine is open with water coming into play on three of the holes. After making the turn, more trees come into play as well as the ravine that affects four of the nine holes.
