Welcome to the Backwoods! We are dedicated to providing top quality, home grown products in a family friendly atmosphere. Please come and enjoy the great outdoors with us. We started growing specialty crops in 1990 with a few blackberries. We have since expanded into asparagus, berries, peaches, and canned & baked goods. Pick up fruits of the season from the roadside stand or head to the fields to pick your own strawberries, black raspberries or asparagus.

Located on historic Route 66, this was originally a pharmacy built in the 1880’s. The soda fountain was added to the business in the 1950’s. Stop in for an old-fashioned treat or ice-cream. Doc’s is also open for lunch and dinner.

The 9-hole "Lone Oak" executive course at the Lone Oak Golf Course facility in Carrollton features 2,150 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 32. Designed by George DeGeal, the Lone Oak golf course opened in 1984.
McMaster Woods is a beautiful oak woodland and barrens that occurs on deep ravines, steep slopes and a ridgetop. Limestone bedrock outcrops along the bases of ravines and an intermittent stream crosses the northwest corner of the preserve. A great variety of wildflowers, grasses, sedges and ferns occur here, including large-flowered bellwort, spikenard, false dragonhead, wood reed and maidenhair fern. A small, but interesting barrens remnant occurs on the ridgetop. Looking for a challenging course? Look no further than Oak Leaf Golf Course. Situated on 40 rolling acres, Oak Leaf offers the best of golf for both beginners and pros. Established in 1924, Oak Leaf boasts a course featuring 2,236 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 32. The course has been rated at 60.6, and has a slope rating of 98 on Blue Grass. In addition to golf, the Club offers a well-stocked fishing pond, newly renovated clubhouse, and practice greens.
This beautiful 1.4 mile long piece of restored hand-laid brick road is a segment of 66 done in 1931 and placed over a concrete roadbed. Route 66 at its best.

No fee for camping but campers must register with the Police Department. Boat motors with 5HP or less allowed. Fishing is allowed at the lake. No swimming.
Wolves Crossing was built in 1993 and features open, rolling landscapes with manageable length and plenty of open space. Located just 15 minutes north of Alton, Wolves Crossing is an excellent choice for golf outings, tournaments, company outings and fund raisers.
