Clarke House Museum

If Chicago has a love of architecture, it probably begins here with Chicago's oldest domestic structure, a Greek Revival house built in 1836 by the Henry B. Clarke Family, a middle-class family life in Chicago during the city's formative years before the Civil War. Tours Wed.-Sun. noon and 2pm. Adults $10, seniors and students $9, children $6. Free admission on Wednesdays. For tickets and the start of the tour please go to 1800 S. Prairie Avenue. Admission on Wednesdays is free but group size is limited to 12 people. Tickets are available on a first come- first serve basis. For more information, please call the contracting site for tours at 312. 326.1480. Any group of 8 or more people must have prearrangements to see the house.
