Information

The spirit of giving each year is renewed by the Bishop Hill Filling Station Restaurant, which organizes the annual fundraiser to send Quad Cities area veterans to Washington, D.C. as part of the Honor Flight Network

A barbeque rib dinner, that’s finger licking good right off the grill starts the festivities. Patriot Guard and Legion Riders ride into town and kick off the festivities with an invocation and presentation of colors. Patriotic music is provided throughout the event as well as unique military exhibits and a military retreat is held promptly at 1800 hours with a 21 gun salute and taps. A live auction of donated items, including, locally made artisan craft to sports memorabilia and more is the highlight of the day, besides the eating that is. Area veterans are provided with a free trip to visit their memorial. All proceeds from the day’s events are donated to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities, $60,000 and counting. 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
