St. Patrick’s Day Parade & River Dyeing
One of the largest in the country, the annual downtown St. Patrick's Day Parade honors Chicago’s Irish heritage. The Chicago River goes green as 40 pounds of vegetable dye color the water between Columbus and Wacker drives. Festivities continue after as revelers parade up Columbus Drive with floats and flags to the sound of bagpipes. Hours: Dyeing 10:00 a.m., Parade 12 p.m.
