Step back in time with the Chillicothe Historical Society
Come and see the Rock Island Depot Museum located at 3rd and Cedar streets. The depot is packed with Rock Island and Santa Fe memorabilia, a furnished Santa Fe caboose and working models of the Rock Island and Santa Fe lines. You can also check out the museum at 723 N 4th that is filled with local history. You will find the world's official Johnston McCulley exhibit. Chillicothe High School graduate, Johnston McCulley, is the creator of the first masked super hero, Zorro! He also created several dozen other characters. You will also find a local Native American display, military area and much more. Both museums are open from March thru December, 1st Sunday of the month and every Wednesday. Hours are 1-4 pm.
