Sheep to Clothing at Lincoln Log Cabin

Category: EVENTS

Follow the process of creating fabric in the 19th century, beginning with raw wool, our volunteers will take you through the entire spectrum of home based manufacturing process; quite literally from sheep to clothing. The Lincoln-Sargent Farm Foundation will kick off their fundraising campaign for the restoration of the Moore Home, scene of Abraham Lincoln’s family farewell before leaving for Washington DC in 1861, with a unique pledge drive. The site manager will be weaving Venetian Carpet throughout the day with pledges for the number of yards woven. Also enjoy the Victory Garden Plant Sale: the Lincoln-Sargent Farm Foundation will again be selling heirloom flowers, plants and herbs to raise funds to support the educational and interpretive programming at Lincoln Log Cabin. All events will run from 10am-4pm.
