Poetry Foundation

Information

The Poetry Foundation is a home for all things poetry in Chicago, with a library that includes over 30,000 volumes of nothing but poetry—including a section just for kids—and a gallery space, which has new exhibitions every season.

Entrance to the building, as well as all events, are free and open to the public. The Foundation building in River North is just off the Red Line Chicago stop, and near a number of other cool attractions to visit, like the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago  and Water Tower Place.

The Poetry Foundation is also the publisher of Poetry magazine, which was founded in Chicago by Harriet Monroe in 1912, and has been publishing contemporary poetry ever since.
