There’s something for everyone: from couples’s classes to knife skills, kitchen rentals to corporate outings, and custom baked goods made just to your liking. We are a culinary education center designed for the everyday person. We teach you how to prepare great meals, cooking techniques, the science of cooking, kitchen safety and sanitation, some food history and other useful information presented in clear easy to understand and entertaining manner. We offer hands-on cooking classes, demonstration classes, couple's night, corporate team building, private group cooking classes and offer commercial kitchen rental.
31st Annual Harvest of Talents
On the 4th Saturday of October, HARVEST DAY begins with doors opening promptly at 7 a.m. at Lincoln Christian Church, in Lincoln, IL, with homemade cinnamon and pecan rolls. Carry-outs available. Freshly made vegetable soup cooked in outdoor kettles, homemade pie & bread, lots of tasty snacks and beverages in outdoor tent booths, and handmade items of all kinds (for pets, gardens, Christmas, home decor, shabby chic, quilted, babies, baked goods, jams/jellies, fresh produce, gift baskets, etc.) are sold 7 a.m. til 1 p.m. or til the exciting live auction begins at 2 p.m. There’s something for everyone, inc. live entertainment, souvenir photo booth, hand-lettered pressed-flower bookmarks, craft projects & mission classes for children, silent auctions, Harvest logo wear & souvenirs, monitored coat check room, I.D.E.S. information table, and Harvest Ministry Welcome area. A highlight is the live auction in the afternoon of many unique items, such as original design hand sewn quilts, handcrafted furniture, fine needlework, framed photography and artwork, jewelry, pottery, items from the mission field, refurbished antiques, re-purposed items, and other treasures.

Ludwig Farmstead Creamery
Guests can tour the farm, watch how several types of cheese are made and sample some of Ludwig's products for just $5.00. Tours can be scheduled for groups of 10 or more throughout the week or on Saturdays for groups of less than ten or individuals. The Creamery sits on Feathercreek Farm, a 150-acre, fifth-generation family farm originally settled in 1866. The Ludwig family's primary business is the care and breeding of high pedigree, purebred Holstein dairy cattle.

Slagel Family Farm
Slagel Family farm is a 6th generation farm in central Illinois. Re-connect with the land and watch the livestock roaming the pastures in the wide-open skies outside the city. As more and more people have the desire to learn more about their food and where it comes from, a farm tour and dinner would be an excellent way to bring you closer to your food. Tours, which run from spring to fall, are a full afternoon of learning and enjoying food. Each farm tour/dinner will be paired with one or more well-known chefs from Chicago. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions, hold baby piglets, gather fresh eggs, and interact with playful goats and lambs. Following the tour, you will head back to the barn and enjoy a four-course meal prepared using products raised within feet of where we are sitting.

Wind Ridge Herb Farm in Caledonia, IL grows over 400 varieties of culinary and medicinal herbs without the use of chemical fertilizers. The herbs produced by Wind Ridge Herb Farm are Certified Naturally Grown. They carry only natural products with no artificial dyes, preservatives, or additives; personally harvesting, inspecting, drying, and packaging the herbs in order to guarantee quality and freshness. The garden is available for meetings, tours, groups and catered lunches. Lunches are provided for groups of 8 or more, and include a garden tour.

This is a 30-acre organic market farm that sells organic produce to some of Chicago’s best chefs and restaurants and direct to the public at the Evanston and the Chicago Green City Farmers Markets. In addition to organic vegetables, the farm produces eggs, raises chickens, and is the home for a small herd of sheep, hogs, 6 dogs, a rabbit named Bandit, and Shelly, the family’s Nubian milk goat.
