The "Grandpa Gang" has been at it again transforming Rock Springs Park in Alton, Illinois into a Winter Wonderland. Visitors can drive through the park to view more than 2 million lights, cascading waterfalls of lights, lighted trees and displays, and visit Santa Claus in the Enchanted Forest. Christmas Wonderland 2009 will be open from November 27th through December 27th. The suggested donation is $7 for cars and small vans or $1 per person for vehicles holding more than 10 people. Joy of Christmas Service
This beautiful Christmas service is one you won’t want to miss. It begins in Andover’s Augustana Lutheran Church and concludes by walking to candlelit Jenny Lind Chapel for communion. The service features special choral and instrumental music by Augustana College students and faculty. Refreshments follow the service at Augustana Church. Service begins at 7:30pm.
Andover Christmas Julotta
For 163 years this early morning (6:30 a.m.) service has been held at Augustana Lutheran Church. The service is held in a setting similar to that used by the Swedish congregation in 1870. The choir sings a Swedish anthem and the service is in English. Candles in the pews, altar and windows illuminate the sanctuary. Service begins at 6:30am.

Christmas at the Mansions Tour
Christmas at the Mansions is a community-wide tour of the David Davis Mansion and two Mystery Houses in Bloomington-Normal. You'll see these gorgeous homes decorated in period Christmas finery. Take in the architecture, history, postcard scenes of decorated evergreen trees and Christmas wreaths, poinsettia plants, and even hosts dressed in period costumes, as you walk back in time to the late 1800's and early 1900's. Music and other surprises will complement your tour! Three hour tours are scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central parking and shuttle service is available at the David Davis Mansion or Second Presbyterian Church (313 N. East Street, Bloomington, Illinois).

The David Davis Mansion's annual holiday celebration, Christmas at Clover Lawn, runs from November 28 through December 29th. Tours are offered Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tours are free, but donations are welcome. Create holiday memories with your family by visiting the David Davis Mansion, all decked out for the holidays. Breakfast with Santa at the Brookfield Zoo
The family can enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet with a special appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus along with some special zoo costumed characters. Holiday Lights at Bunker Hill
Historic buildings at Kennekuk County Park's "Bunker Hill Historic Area" will be lit for the occasion and decorated for the holidays. Continuing throughout the holiday season, the holiday lights will be displayed weekends from 5-8 p.m.
Historic Fischer Theatre, owned by the Vermilion Heritage Foundation, was built as the Grand Opera House in 1884. From Lillian Russell to silent movies, this theater provided entertainment to the community until it's closing in 1982. As work continues toward the goal of complete restoration, the lobby is used for many public events. The theater also houses the "Stage Presents The Fischer Gift Shop" where you will find creations by local artists and artisans, as well as products highlighting the area's famous stage, movie and vocal artists.
Danville Symphony Orchestra Presents "An Italian Christmas"
Blending the lines between popular and classical music, the three members of the vocal group Poperazzi have performed in everything from opera houses to Las Vegas. On December 6th – 8th the Ellwood House Museum presents the 3-day Holiday Open House. Tour guides will be stationed in twelve locations throughout the festive four floors of the mansion to share information about the architecture and the Ellwood family. The Nutcracker at the Egyptian Theater
The Beth Fowler Dance Company will present its Annual production of "The Nutcracker". Many area families have made this magical production a part of their holiday tradition every year. With the beautiful dancing, costumes and stage sets, this favorite holiday classic will tell a story that will make everyone feel like a child at Christmas.
Du Quoin Annual Holiday Lights Fair
Starting the day after Thanksgiving and continuing through the month of December. Come experience Du Quoin Tourism’s transformation of the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds into a magical place with lights and decorations. The event features a 1 1/2-mile drive through over $250,000 worth of lighted displays as well as decorated trees, entertainment, food, crafts and visits with Santa in the Expo Hall. The light trail opens nightly from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m., and the Expo Hall will be open on the second and third weekends in December from 5:30 — 9:30 p.m. The Expo Hall features Santa’s train ride and Santa’s Workshop.

Holiday Lights Fair
The three mile drive through Christmas lights display is open every night! In the beautifully decorated Expo Hall there will be live stage entertainment, craft vendors, Santa Claus, food, train rides for the kids, Kids Korner with activities, hourly drawings, model train display and more on the weekends in December leading up to Christmas.

Opened in 1909 as an opera house and a meeting hall for the Independent Order of Oddfellows, the Wildey has undergone many transformations through the years. The most recent one is a $2 million renovation inside and out.
Downtown in December
Mark your calendar and bring your friends and family to Edwardsville for the 2nd Annual Downtown in December. In addition to participating merchants having extended hours there will be many activities happening in downtown. Caroling will be heard along parts of Main and Vandalia Streets, Santa will be visiting with Children, decorated store fronts and even an Elves Workshop!
Wonderland in Lights 2013
Each year, the City of Effingham and the Effingham Convention and Visitors Bureau turn Community Park into a winter wonderland! Wonderland in Lights, a drive-thru light display, features a variety of lighted holiday scenes including reindeer flying, Santa coming down the chimney, and a Nativity scene. We continue to add new lighting displays each year to grow the display. Santa visits the Wonderland in Lights every Saturday to bring special presents to the children. Come drive through the light display and stick around to talk to Santa and listen to your favorite Christmas carols! The Wonderland in Lights is free, but donations are welcome. Five Little Monkeys

Home for the Holidays
Step back in time during Historic Elsah's annual "Home for the Holidays" on Saturday, December 7. Tour six historic homes decorated for the holidays, take a carriage ride and enjoy a fixed price lunch at Farley's Music Hall. Lunch will be served on a first-come first-served basis and is provided by The Cultured Bistro. Advance ticket sales using Paypal will be available by going to www.historicelsah.org. Citizens from around Fairfield purchase and then donate lights and displays that decorate the park for the holiday season. You can drive through or, on certain evenings, you can take a horse and carriage ride through the park to see the beautiful lights and displays.

Geneseo Christmas Walk
Geneseo’s spirit sparkles downtown with Christmas magic in the air. Each storefront window has family, friends and even animals depicting various scenes. Enjoy chestnuts roasting. Geneseo Art League Christmas Forest
View decorated miniature trees, gingerbread, and member holiday artwork. Silent auction bids accepted on display items. Open house weekend features refreshments, and Christmas Walk night is when the silent auction winners are announced. The store has a large variety of fine art and photography that make lovely and fun items for gift giving.
Geneva's Christmas Walk & House Tour
On Friday evening, Santa Lucia arrives by horse-drawn carriage and Santa arrives to open his Gingerbread House. Enjoy carolers, the Great Tree lighting, roasted chestnuts, Swedish cookies, and old-fashioned candy cane pull, and holiday shopping. On Friday & Saturday, five distinctive homes festively decorated for the holidays by local decorators open their doors to visitors for self-guided tours.
Visit beautiful Glazebrook Park lit up with twinkling lights to celebrate the holiday season. Everyone is invited to attend this free old-fashioned festival complete with carolers, hot cocoa, horse-drawn carriage rides and pictures with Santa! Bundle up since it may be chilly! All ages are welcome. In honor of the giving season, please bring a nonperishable food item for donation to the Crisis Food Center.
Christmas Home Tours
