Flint Hill Vineyard
Flint Hill Vineyards began growing grapes in the Mid 1990's with the efforts of brothers-in-law, Louis Bertino and John Molinarolo. Louis had a vineyard of Concord and Niagara at his home site some years earlier. After courses in the development of a vineyard, two acres of vines were planted from cuttings acquired from an established Southern Illinois vineyard. The varieties planted were Chambourcin and Vignoles, French hybrids proven to fare well in our climate and produce fruit that vinted into excellent wine. In the late 1990's another two acres of vines were planted adding the Seyval Blanc variety, a proven and hardy producer.

Fluorspar Festival
Hardin County Fluorspar Festival celebrates the influences brought to the area by the Fluorspar Mining Companies. Located on the banks of the Ohio River. Rosiclare (once known as the “Fluorspar Capital”), has a colorful history that revolved around this mineral. Each year, the Festival highlights and brings back memories of days gone by. Held on the first weekend in October in Downtown Rosiclare, the Festival features an ever-growing list of activities and things to do, including a Queen’s Pageant, a carnival, hickory-smoked barbeque, a pet parade, kid’s games, karoke, food and craft vendors, a quilt show, an open-house at the American Fluorite Museum, a car, truck and motorcycle show, and a large parade featuring local school bands, groups, floats, a Grand Marshall and horse clubs. Local musical talent will also be on hand and the finale is held Saturday evening at the City Park on the Ohio River.

Shawnee Chief Motel
This mom and pop motel has been family owned since 1958 and offers the traveler relaxing accommodations close to the scenic Ohio River and the Shawnee National Forest. Nineteen units plus six efficiency are available.

Shawneetown Bank
A fine example of Greek Revival architecture, the Shawneetown Bank was constructed in 1839-41 to house the offices of the Bank of Illinois at Shawneetown. The building housed numerous financial institutions into the 1930s.

Marshall House
Tour one of the oldest brick buildings in Illinois, now a two-story museum with pioneer furnishings, documents and historic memorabilia. A Lewis & Clark historical marker is also located in Shawneetown.

The Corn Crib
Offers locally grown strawberries, Mirai sweet corn, potatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, green beans, turnips, melons and zucchini. Open mid June to mid October, Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm. Closed on Sundays.
