World Music Festival Chicago
The 16th Annual World Music Festival Chicago will take place Thursday, September 11 – Sunday, September 21, 2014 and is presented by the City of Chicago and produced by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. The Game's Afoot

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
A play based on the book written by Barbara Robinson in 1971. It tells the story of Imogene, Claude, Ralph, Leroy, Ollie, and Gladys, six delinquent children surnamed Herdman. They go to church for the first time after being told that the church offers snacks. Despite protests from other church members, they are given roles in the Sunday school's Christmas play, in which they tell the Christmas story in a non-conventional fashion.

To raise the comical bar, four audience members get the opportunity to participate in this quirky musical as onstage bee contestants. Through the ups and downs of the bee, the youngsters are forced to learn that winning isn't everything and losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.

Sycamore's Steam Show and Threshing Bee
For the last 57 years, the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club has sponsored the Sycamore Steam Show & Threshing Bee the second Thursday in August. The event starts at 6:00 a.m. with breakfast. The afternoon is filled with threshing of steam engines and tractors and spotlights a 1:30 p.m. parade of old steam engines, tractors, cars and other antique machines. Storytelling at Fox Ridge
Many different storytelling events are held under the serenity of the pines at Fox Ridge, our outdoor education & entertainment venue, across from the main doors of the Lodge. Campfire Stories are every Saturday night from July through October. Join us and some of the Illinois Valley’s most engaging storytellers as they share stories, legends, facts and fiction around the fire. Audience participation is welcome so be ready for some fun! Storytime starts at 7:00 pm. Come and sit around the campfire and share your own stories as well as listen to stories told by professionals. Don't worry about the snacks. Sterling Main Street Music Fest
The 2014 Sterling Main Street Music Fest will be held at the Grandon Civic Center in downtown Sterling. Musical acts for this year’s festival will be Charlie Siren, four piece pop punk band based out of Minneapolis, Kyle Henderson, a prolific songwriter with a style that melds blues, rock and soul in an original, magical way and The Cole Brothers who have toured the world with Pop Icon Tony Orlando and have shared the stage with the likes of Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, The Beach Boys, Three Dog Night and many more.
In conjunction with the City of Lockport's summer art series The Visionaries, The Gaylord Building is hosting "A Steampunk Expo." The event will feature makers and retailers of "steampunk" art and merchandise. The Expo will be held in the historic site Friday through Sunday, July 25-27, 2014 which is also The Visionaries' Gala Weekend. Gala Weekend activities include food and entertainment in The Gaylord Building and throughout Lockport's historic downtown. Public admission to the Expo is free. Steampunk artists and merchants who want to participate should contact the historic site's staff at 815-838-9400.
Staunton Art and Music Festival
Held at Duda Park and sponsored by the Staunton Art Council and the Staunton Tourism Committee. 5th Annual Art & Music Festival consists of exhibition and sale of fine art, live music, food and fun for the entire family. This event takes place in a relaxing and beautifully landscaped park.
Starved Rock Photography Club
Whether you are just beginning in photography, are an advanced amateur or a professional, you are welcome to the Starved Rock Photography Club. Monthly photography walks at Starved Rock State Park's Lodge with club leader, Jacki Pienta. The Photography Club will meet each month throughout the year for guided walks to planned sites for photography opportunities. Members will informally exchange ideas and tips for quality nature and wildlife photos. They will meet the 4th Saturday of every month at 9am in the back of the Large Parking lot at Starved Rock Lodge. All meetings will consist of a hike to an area of either Starved Rock State Park, Matthiessen State Park, or Buffalo Rock. Please be prepared to carpool if necessary. $25.00 Annual fee to join which will include a club t-shirt and an annual cook out!
Starlight Theatre at Rock Valley College - 2014 Season
Summers come alive at RVC with Starlight Theatre, featuring four productions and held in the beautiful, and one-of-a-kind Bengt Sjostrom Theatre on the main campus. With its one of a kind retractable roof, every night is a perfect night for a show. Starlight brings some of the best known productions to Rockford, and in recent years has also debuted original works. 2014 season includes "The Sound of Music," TinTypes," Honk!," and "Monty Python's Spamalot."
Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive
Fulton County offers unusual beauty of the colors throughout the Spoon River Valley, which inspired founders to hold the first Fall Festival and to organize the Spoon River Valley Scenic Drive. The first weekend of the Scenic Drive brought large crowds and a second consecutive weekend was held in October 1968. The Scenic Drive's Fall Festival has since been held each year during the first two full weekends of October. Fulton County's Spoon River Valley country offers much to the visitor during the Fall Festival and during other seasons of the year. While there are many attractions a visitor may find interesting, a few highlights may include the lone dam on the Spoon River at Bernadotte, a public boat dock at London Mills, the historical Ellisville Opera House, and the breathtaking scenery along the entire route of the Spoon River. Foods have become a tradition during the Fall Festival such as apple butter made before your eyes at London Mills, baked potatoes and hot cider at Farmington, chicken and noodles at Smithfield's Red Brick School, funnel cakes in Lewistown, baked goods in Duncan Mills and the famed ham in Ellisville. Visitors to the area are welcome to join us on the highways and byways of Fulton County which sport the colors of the four seasons and are open to visitors year around with routes running through London Mills, Farmington, Fairview, Ellisville, Smithfield, Cuba, Canton, Avon, Lewistown, Bernadotte, Duncan Mills, Waterford Township, Ipava and Astoria. These routes cover more than 100 miles in Fulton County.

This Festival began in 1997 and continued to grow and expand with new events and excitement for participants of all ages. Rockford Greek Fest - Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church
Greek Fest offers authentic Grecian food, pastries and a marketplace with jewelry, clothes, books and a variety of gifts. Rent - The Musical
Rent is a rock musical with music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La Bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York City's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. On Broadway, Rent gained critical acclaim and won a Tony Award for Best Musical among other awards. At Stage 212, Rent is cast with local talent and directed by DJ Haun. Shows are Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm.

Phases of the Moon Music & Art Festival
The inaugural Phases of the Moon Music & Art Festival is set to take place September 11-14, 2014 at the beautiful 3.000 acre Kennekuk County Park. Phases of the Moon is a four-day music, arts and camping event thoughtfully tailored to provide a unique festival experience.
