YMCA Fall Festival at Camp Winnebago
The YMCA of Rock River Valley is teaming up with Twisted Crypt Productions to transform Camp Winnebago YMCA into the region's newest family-fun destination this fall. Family Fall Festival promises to be your family's new fall tradition complete with trick-or-treating in the Halloween Village, a two-mile corn maze, pumpkin patch, craft bazaar, live music, food and more (Saturdays and Sundays in October). Camp Winnebago YMCA, located one mile north of Rockford, rests in the wilderness just minutes from downtown. The property encompasses 150 acres and prides itself on being a year-round facility. This fall it will be decked out in a kid-friendly Halloween theme.

Winnebago County Forest Preserve District
There are 41 individual forest preserves for the purpose of protecting the natural beauty of Winnebago County, as well as for education and recreation. The forest preserves provide over 9,700 acres of property for the use and enjoyment of the general public. Lush woods, picturesque streams, dramatic cliffs and dells, unspoiled prairies and native wildlife are treasures to be enjoyed by residents and visitors of all ages. Hiking, camping, canoeing, picnicking, fishing, bird watching and cross-country skiing are recreational activities available at sites throughout the county.
Winery Tour - Prairie State Winery
Meet at our Genoa Tasting Room at 1pm and go behind the scenes with our winemaker. You will learn all about how our award-winning, Illinois-grown wines are made as he guides you through our production facility. You will get to discover the nuances of Riedel glassware with a specially designed tasting and keep your glass as a souvenir! Cost is $15 per person in advance or $17 the day of the tour. Willow's Hometown Cafe
Willow’s Hometown Café is located in the Frederick Townsend Garage and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Sycamore Historic District. The distinctive stone structure was constructed in 1906 for use as a garage for the estate of Frederick B. Townsend, his former home is the Queen Anne mansion that overlooks the garage property. The structure is made of granite rocks gathered from Townsend’s farmland, right here in Sycamore.
Whiskey Acres Distilling Co.
Meet farmcrafted spirits. Grown from the finest grain, handcrafted and distilled on our fifth generation family farm. From us to you. From seed to spirit. Starting July 10, 2015, Whiskey Acres will be open 1-8 on Fri and Sat , and 1-5 on Sunday for summer hours. Tours and tasting are $10/person, and include a souvenir shot glass. Tours will occur every hour on the hour, with the last tour at 7 pm on Fri and Sat, and 4:00 pm on Sun. Cocktails will be available to purchase by the glass to enjoy in the tasting room or on the cocktail patio. There will also be branded logo wear, bottles of whiskey and Whiskey Acres tasting room exclusive vodka available for purchase.

Victor E. Court at NIU Convocation Center
Victor E. Court is an auxiliary gym with seating for 800 housed within the NIU Convocation Center. VEC is the home for Huskie volleyball, wrestling and gymnastic home matches. The facility also provides additional practice space for the NIU basketball teams.
Veterans Memorial Hall
Dedicated in 1903 in ceremonies that included a speech by Teddy Roosevelt, Memorial Hall is a tribute to Rockford citizens who have served in the Armed Forces. Large wall plaques list names of fallen veterans, and cases in the main lobby, side rooms and the lower level display Armed Services artifacts including memories of the Civil War, the World Wars and Camp Grant. The renovated second floor auditorium is used by cultural groups for shows and presentations and is accessible via the elevator.
