Winnebago County Forest Preserve District
There are 41 individual forest preserves for the purpose of protecting the natural beauty of Winnebago County, as well as for education and recreation. The forest preserves provide over 9,700 acres of property for the use and enjoyment of the general public. Lush woods, picturesque streams, dramatic cliffs and dells, unspoiled prairies and native wildlife are treasures to be enjoyed by residents and visitors of all ages. Hiking, camping, canoeing, picnicking, fishing, bird watching and cross-country skiing are recreational activities available at sites throughout the county.

Windy City Soaring Association is a non-profit organization (club) dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of soaring (flying sailplanes aka gliders). Based at Hinckley Airport (0C2) in the friendly village of Hinckley IL, situated about fifty miles West of the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago.
Willow's Hometown Cafe
Willow’s Hometown Café is located in the Frederick Townsend Garage and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Sycamore Historic District. The distinctive stone structure was constructed in 1906 for use as a garage for the estate of Frederick B. Townsend, his former home is the Queen Anne mansion that overlooks the garage property. The structure is made of granite rocks gathered from Townsend’s farmland, right here in Sycamore.

From seed to spirit. Tours and tastings are $10/person, and include a souvenir shot glass. Tours will occur every hour on the hour, with the last tour starting one hour before close. Cocktails will be available to purchase by the glass to enjoy in the tasting room or on the cocktail patio. There will also be branded logo wear, bottles of whiskey and Whiskey Acres tasting room exclusive vodka available for purchase.

Victor E. Court at NIU Convocation Center
Victor E. Court is an auxiliary gym with seating for 800 housed within the NIU Convocation Center. VEC is the home for Huskie volleyball, wrestling and gymnastic home matches. The facility also provides additional practice space for the NIU basketball teams.
Veterans Memorial Hall
Dedicated in 1903 in ceremonies that included a speech by Teddy Roosevelt, Memorial Hall is a tribute to Rockford citizens who have served in the Armed Forces. Large wall plaques list names of fallen veterans, and cases in the main lobby, side rooms and the lower level display Armed Services artifacts including memories of the Civil War, the World Wars and Camp Grant. The renovated second floor auditorium is used by cultural groups for shows and presentations and is accessible via the elevator.
Urban Grace, located in downtown DeKalb, Illinois, sells CeCe Caldwell's Paints, provides monthly workshops catered to individual techniques using CeCe Caldwell's products, and will also custom paint furniture.

Trolley Car #36
Trolley Car #36 is a turn-of-the-century, open-air trolley, the kind your grandparents might have taken to work, except you don't have to go to work. Board the Trolley at the Trolley Station in Riverview Park (on Thursdays, board at Nicholas Conservatory), ride along Madison Street beside the scenic Rock River Recreation Path, stop for a brief visit to the Eclipse Lagoon and Gardens, travel to the Symbol, then turn around and return to the Trolley Station. Trolley Car #36 is wheelchair accessible; however, the trolley is limited to 2 wheelchairs per ride.
