Willowhaven Interpretive Center
A facility of the Bourbonnais Township Park District, The Willowhaven Interpretive Center is a free hands-on museum that houses natural and historical exhibits, provides the community a place to learn, explore, and enjoy the splendors of nature! Displays focus on Illinois wildlife, conservation and natural history. The most popular displays include hands-on discovery tables with pelts, nests, feathers, tracks and more. The center also has live animal displays, aquariums, a children's reading nook, computer tables and a microscope lab table.
Willowhaven Interpretive Center
Whispering Willows Park at Willowhaven Interpretive Center features open prairies, wetlands, interpretive gardens and 1.5 miles of limestone trails surrounding two scenic ponds. All trails begin and end at the Willowhaven Interpretive Center scenic outlook.
Will County Fair
Our local fair includes livestock as well as arts & crafts judging. With a free Family entertainment tent, a carnival, food, grandstand entertainment & commercial exhibits and a beer tent.
Located in an old border town, situated along the Kankakee River. Designed and built by A.E. Wikstrom in 1892, it was known as the Villa Swea and was a gathering place for visiting Swedish dignitaries and local socialites.
Watseka Union Depot
This historic depot is now home to railroad memorabilia displays.
A beautiful 1931 art deco 375 seat theatre. Shows are open to all ages and start at 7pm except on special events. The theatre brings the opportunity of a variety of entertainment arts; from concerts, live music & professional dance troupes to dinner theatre, local talent shows, private events such as weddings, and special holiday productions. This building was designed by the famous Louis Skidmore of "Skidmore, Owens and Merrill." The Watseka Theatre is believed to be the only theatre he ever designed. It's definitely a "Diamond in Our Own Backyard."

Washington Skate Park

Two-Cell Jail in Gardner
The historic Two-Cell Jail was built in 1906. It has been restored by the community and holds a strong presence near Gardner's downtown area. Visitors are now encouraged to "go behind bars" and have their own photo taken.

A 20th century Kankakee streetcar was moved to Gardner in 1932 to serve as a diner. In 1937, the streetcar became a cottage and playhouse. It was moved behind the Riviera in 1955 and is still there today. It was restored ty the Route 66 Association of Illinois and inducted into the Route 66 Hall of Fame in 2001.
