Petals & Paintings at the Krannert Art Museum
Krannert Art Museum celebrates University of Illinois Moms Weekend by opening its doors to world-class floral designers who create one-of-a-kind arrangements inspired by works of art on display at KAM. The 24th annual Petals & Paintings exhibition will be open to the public from 9 am – 5 pm on Saturday, April 9 and from 12 noon – 5 pm on Sunday, April 10, 2014. Special docent-led tours will be available free of charge from 10 am – 4 pm Saturday. The exhibition is free and open to the public. It is curated by Rick Orr, a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers.
59th Spring Antiques Show
The Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers Association will be presenting its 59th Spring Antiques Show. As usual this quality show will offer genuine antiques beautifully displayed in room settings by 55 dealers from 14 states with an array of Americana, 18th, 19th and early 20th century furniture, textiles, jewelry, stoneware,folk art.
Festival of the Sugar Maples
Just an hour's drive northwest of Chicago, the McHenry County Conservation District's annual "Festival of the Sugar Maples" makes it possible for you and your family to discover how maple syrup is made. The Festival takes place at the Coral Woods Conservation Area near Marengo over two weekends, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday March 5-6 and 12-13.One hour tours leave every 15 minutes and feature the cultural history of the century-old maple grove and stories of how maple syrup was made hundreds of years ago. End your tour with a taste of fresh Coral Woods maple syrup, some hot cocoa and sweet maple treats! The Festival is free and registration is not required. All ages are welcome, but children ages 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Patrons are urged to dress for the weather and to wear shoes appropriate for hiking to the maple grove (about ½ mile, or six blocks).

Forest Park is a municipal park with the Chautauqua Auditorium, Vietnam Memorial, Family Aquatic Center, picnic areas, pavilions, baseball & softball diamonds, fishing lagoon (Crystal Lake), skateboard park, soccer fields, a youth athletic center, and more. There is an entrance to the General Dacey trail at the back of the park and the Memorial Sunken Gardens have been revitalized. The park is also home to the Festival of Lights.
9th Annual Crazy Horse Bluegrass Festival
The fun starts Friday night at 7 p.m. Two shows on Saturday and a gospel show on Sunday. Lots of fun and great music. Tickets can be purchased at the door if not camping. Line-up will be announced around March/April 2016. Everyone is welcome!
48th Annual Fair Diddley® 2016
