Scheffler Art and Gallery
Long noted throughout northern Illinois for pencil drawings in black and white and color work in acrylic art, the gallery feature displays of Scheffler's art, and also provide a working center to fulfill commissions for patron's special requests. The Rooney Building was recently chosen as a location for a commemorative mural by the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition. The Rooney Building is a companion to the renowned H.I. Lincoln Building as a Farming Heritage, Inc. historic preservation project.

Mattoon Mural Arts at Progress Square
Residents are encouraged to visit the mural, "Civility," and relax in the new surroundings at Progress Square. This mural by artist D.S. Gordon embraces the landscape, history and people of Mattoon. For years after the completion of the rail, many trains a day would meet at the intersection of the tracks at the center of town and determine right of way in polite fashion. This symbolizes the civility of a community with a 150-year history of working together, which the mural captures. One of many mural projects sponsored by the Mattoon Arts Council and the City of Mattoon.
The Museum of Contemporary Photography - Columbia College Chicago
Exhibitions and presentations of contemporary photography are supported by grants from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs/Gallery 37, the Illinois Arts Council and the National Endowment of the Arts.

Heartland Gallery specializes in contemporary Irish art and Celtic art and crafts. As a small performance venue, Heartland Gallery has hosted many events including concerts by internationally-known musicians such as Dublin harpist/singer/songwriter Claire Roche, master of the Celtic harp and spoken-word artist Patrick Ball, legendary Irish piper Paddy Keenan, and Scottish singer/songwriter/guitarist Jim Malcolm. The gallery also hosts local and national storytellers, actors and other performing artists including Irish and Scottish dancers.
Lincoln Highway Interpretive Mural - Cortland
The Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition has produced many Interpretive Murals along the Illinois Lincoln Highway National Scenic Byway and its corridor in northern Illinois. The Cortland mural depicts the history, heritage, and events of the highway and its impact on Cortland and the other communities along the Illinois route.
Vandalia Artworks Gallery
The gallery uses exhibit space in the Fayette County Museum. Special exhibits are scheduled through the year.
Elmhurst Art Museum
Exhibiting late 20th Century American Art, Elmhurst Art Museum offers exhibitions ranging from national touring works to local emerging and mid-career Chicago and Illinois artists. The Museum offers public tours, programs, guest lectures and art classes. It's award-winning structure contains a dramatic glass entrance gallery, three museum galleries, an educational pavilion, and the Ludwig Mies van der Rohe-designed McCormick house.

Gretchen Charlton Art Gallery
This not-for-profit Gallery acts as an advocate for local and visiting artists from a variety of genres. Mattoon Welcome Center & Historic Railroad Depot
Mattoon Tourism & Arts Welcome Center is located in the historic Illinois Central Railroad Train Depot, which also still serves as the Amtrak Station for the Community. The original Railroad Depot was constructed in 1918 by the Illinois Central Railroad, and it was then remodeled in 2011. The Depot is still an active Amtrak Station with 3,000 passengers boarding and un-boarding per month. The welcome center offers a host of information: state-of-the-art schools & colleges, a growing economy, beautiful parks, lakes and sports amenities round out the more favorable quality of life found in Mattoon.
DuPage County, Chicago's Western Suburbs - Elmhurst College is home to a state of the art high tech conference and event facility that can host groups from 20 - 900 people. The campus also boasts a first-rate sports facility in an arboretum-like setting.
