The Legacy Walk
The Legacy Walk is a dynamic outdoor LGBT history exhibit in the "Lakeview" neighborhood of Chicago. Presently, along the half mile of the North Halsted Street Corridor, between Belmont Avenue and Grace Street, ten (10) pairs of 25'-tall decorative "Rainbow Pylons" define the nexus of Chicago's LGBT community. Affixed to the pylons are a series of bronze memorial plaques commemorating the life and work of notable lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender individuals whose achievements have helped shape the world

Northern Illinois University Art Museum
NIU Art Museum’s mission is to service the arts curriculum at NIU and to extend arts education and cultural enrichment to the community. The Museum has a permanent collection of 1,000 art pieces and also hosts visiting exhibitions. The Jack Olson Gallery is “the cornerstone of exhibition programming” that is promoted by NIU School of Art. This exhibit space brings thought provoking exhibitions to the northern Illinois community while also offering faculty and students a space to showcase their latest creative endeavors.

Scheffler Art and Gallery
Long noted throughout northern Illinois for pencil drawings in black and white and color work in acrylic art, the gallery feature displays of Scheffler's art, and also provide a working center to fulfill commissions for patron's special requests. The Rooney Building was recently chosen as a location for a commemorative mural by the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition. The Rooney Building is a companion to the renowned H.I. Lincoln Building as a Farming Heritage, Inc. historic preservation project.

The 18th Annual St. Charles Fine Art Show is an award winning, highly regarded show featuring the work of approximately 100 juried artists in various mediums. The show takes place on Memorial Day weekend.
Mary & Leigh Block Museum of Art
Located on the Campus of Northwestern University, the Block Museum is dedicated to the study and exhibition of reproducible art forms, including prints, photographs, film, video, and computer-mediated art. It is also noted in metropolitan Chicago for its outdoors Sculpture Garden. The museum also hosts an acclaimed film series which moves outdoors in the summer. Admission to the museum is free.

Our mission is to provide access to the disciplines and developmental processes so that artists of all ages, from amateur to hobbyist, enthusiast to professional may refine their unique creative voice in our studios and galleries. The Oak Park Art League fulfills this mission through weekly art classes, art exhibitions, studio rentals, lectures, space rentals for private parties, art consultation, and retail sales of artist-made items.
