Boetje's Mustard is a national-favorite. Beginning in 1889, Fred Boetje began making stoneground Dutch mustard in his garage in Rock Island, Illinois. Using the same recipe today of water, mustard seed, sugar, salt and distilled vinegar, Boetje's tops all mustard sales in the local retail market.
Bishop Hill Folk Music Festival
Bishop Hill village park is the center for the best eclectic gathering of folk/ethnic musicians of the Midwest. The Great Race
Vintage automobiles find the finish Line on June 26 in Downtown Moline, Ill., as the 2016 Hemmings Motor News Great Race rolls into the Quad Cities. More than 100 antique and vintage automobiles from around the world battle for $150,000 in prize money during the week-long time/speed/distance rally. The vehicles, each with a driver and navigator, are given precise instructions each day and come rolling in within minutes of each other! Catch the finish of the Great Race on Sunday, June 26 in the Quad Cities.
Orion Fall Festival
Enjoy the perfect ending to the summer. Orion celebrates Labor Day weekend with a long standing tradition. Friday evening begins the event with a pie auction, carnival rides, and arts and crafts. The pie auction is legendary and encapsulates the best of small-town, Midwesterner living. The fun continues Saturday with a 5K run, a parade, and lots of food and fun. Events wrap up Sunday with a talent show.

The Rock Island County Fair has been celebrated for over 140 years. The fair consists of events like livestock show, arts and craft shows, rides, and live entertainment. More than 40,000 people attend the fair each year.

Old Settlers Swedish Stomp and Skamperoo
Begins at 9 am, Skamperoo starts at 10 am. Over 150 runners each year of all ages enjoy this tradition of family fun running through historic Bishop hill, during the annual 5K run/walk. Runners vie for the coveted hand carved wooden boot trophy, symbolic of the Swedish Stomp. Open to all ages 7 to 107.
Lattice, Landscape and Leaves ~ Bishop Hill Quilt Show
The annual quilt show is like a needle and thread as it joins together family members and friends to create something memorable. This event continues to grow and over 100 quilts and quilted pieces are entered in this judged show at the Colony School. Be sure to visit the Village Smithy and VagnHall Galleri to see additional quilts on display.
Bishop Hill Steeple Building
Take a look back in history and visit the Steeple building, built in 1854. Architecturally intriguing it is a three-story stucco Greek Revival structure with a two-story tower and 66 six-over-six windows. It was built to be used as a hotel, but instead was used as a dwelling, school, administration building, and later housed a bank, telephone switchboard and apartments. The museum is home to the Bishop Hill Heritage Asssociation offices. The rooms and exhibit showcase historic artifacts and photos of early Colony days and take visitors back through time to a quaint prairie village. Group tours by appointment, small fee.
