Traditional Music Festival
Listen to bluegrass and folk music played on traditional instruments as you stroll among the log cabins and garden paths of the reconstructed pioneer village where Abraham Lincoln lived and worked as a young man.
Fall Festival at Lincoln’s New Salem
Come and see what a typical autumn life was like on the 1830's Illinois prairie. There will be costumed interpreters demonstrating daily tasks such as candle dipping, butter churning, soap making, basket making, spinning wool, gardening, natural dyeing, and fishing with nets. As well as a demonstration of meat smoking that will take place in one of the log village's period smokehouses. Wild game cooking will be demonstrated in the log homes and you are also welcome to step down into the cellar at the tavern to see how fruits and vegetables were preserved during the winter.
Memorial’s Festival of Trees
A nine-day holiday event featuring more than 200 trees and wreaths decorated with exquisite creativity. 27th Annual Edwards Place Fine Art Fair
Shop the fine art and ware of artists from around the region. Enjoy a park-like atmosphere on the grounds of this restored Antebellum mansion while perusing artists’ booths. Includes a children’s area, live music, food, and tours of the home as well as a used book sale.

6th Annual Springfield Oyster & Beer Festival

Lincoln Balloon Festival
Come enjoy the mass ascension of the hot air balloons in the skies of Logan County. Morning and evening flights both Friday and Saturday (weather permitting). At dusk, the balloons will come back to the Airport and re-inflate for evening glows. This is a spectacular event that is enjoyed by the young and old alike.

5th Annual Downhome Music, Beer & Art Festival
The 5th Annual Downhome Music Beer Art Festival will be held on August 7th and 8th 2015 at the corner of 7th and Washington in downtown Springfield, Illinois. The event will feature all local, original live bands with all gate proceeds directly benefiting the artists. There will be local food vendors, 100 different craft beers, as well as a kids area for the little ones. Sponsored by Celtic Mist, Head West and Brewhaus - a festival supporting locally grown and original live music.
Lincoln Theater 4
Built in 1922, the theater built by Steve Bennis opened in 1923 showing "John Quincy Adams Sawyer." It was originally a single screen featuring an organ and live stage shows as well. The number of screens was doubled in 1985 and then again in the mid nineties. Downtown Lincoln is a great place to grab dinner and a movie while exploring the Mother Road.
