Explore this original Colony structure that once served as a communal residence for families of Bishop Hill. See how it has been transformed into a wonderful backdrop for primitive antiques and handcrafted wares displayed throughout this stately home. You will find Primitive Cupboards, Folk Art, Early Country in old paint & original surface, Garden Accents, Textiles, Pottery, Quilts, Yellowware, Treenware, Baskets. Open 10 am to 4 pm.
Bishop Hill Honor Flight Benefit
The spirit of giving each year is renewed by the Bishop Hill, The Filling Station Restaurant who organizes the annual fundraiser to send the Quad Cities area veterans to Washington, D.C. part of the Honor Flight Network. A barbeque rib dinner, that’s finger licking good right off the grill starts the festivities. Patriot Guard and Legion Riders ride into town and kick off the festivities with an invocation and presentation of colors. Patriotic music is provided throughout the event as well as unique military exhibits and a military retreat is held promptly at 1800 hours with a 21 gun salute and taps. A live auction of donated items, including, locally made artisan craft to sports memorabilia and more is the highlight of the day, besides the eating that is. Golf cart shuttle service from outlying parking areas will be provided to Village Park by Cambridge Cart Sales. Area veterans are provided with a free trip to visit their memorial with priority given to survivors of World War II, Korean War, and any veteran with a terminal illness. Honor Flight Quad Cities operates on donations from organizations and individuals. Representatives from the Honor Flight organization attend the fundraiser. All proceeds from the day’s events are donated to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities, $60,000 and counting. 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Bishop Hill Civil War Day
A one-time event in honor of Bishop Hill’s Company D, IL 57th Infantry offering living history camp of infantry, cavalry, and battle re-enactments. A period fashion show and Ladies Tea is planned to set the stage. Other activities planned are an embalming exhibit and lecture, a hospital tent, and an evening dance in period costumes. Old Settlers Swedish Stomp and Skamperoo
Begins at 9 am, Skamperoo starts at 10 am. Over 150 runners each year of all ages enjoy this tradition of family fun running through historic Bishop hill, during the annual 5K run/walk. Runners vie for the coveted hand carved wooden boot trophy, symbolic of the Swedish Stomp. Open to all ages 7 to 107.
Downtown Kewanee Car Show
Cruise in held on Friday night. Saturday Classic and vintage cars roll into downtown Kewanee and line the street for a top 100 car show.
Hog Day Stampede
Join us and compete in the four-mile Stampede, a one-mile run and a quarter-mile "fun run" for younger children. T-shirt awards, children under 7 receive a free t-shirt. Begins at 8 am.
Valborg Spring Bonfire
Bring the family and “burn away the old to welcome the new” experience a traditional Swedish bonfire. In Sweden the bonfire, speech and song signal hope in the future. Make this old tradition your own. The Bonfire is held at the Vasa Archives museum. Begins at 6 pm.
Midsommar Music Festival
Music and fun for the entire family, participate in musical workshops, jamming sessions and a barn dance with instructions provided. Main stage concerts are held in Village Park. Main Stage Events begin at 11 am, Maypole procession at 4 pm, and Barn Dance at 7 pm.
Rootabaga Jazz Festival
Orpheum Theatre and McGillacuddy’s, 58 S. Cherry Street - features Internationally recognized jazz artists, plus regional bands and the award-winning Knox College Jazz Ensemble.
Ryan's Round Barn
Tour this centennial barn, one of the largest in the country and one of forty-two left in the State of Illinois. It stands 80 feet high and 85 feet in diameter and features a 16-foot diameter floor to ceiling silo. A farm implement museum in on the main floor. Tours are provided by Friends of Johnson’s Park Foundation and groups of ten or more asked to call ahead. Open the first, third, and fifth Saturday beginning May through October. Hours: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Freedom Fest’s Cruise- In the City of Go
Galva is known as the city of "Go" and cars will be going on this annual cruise event downtown. Start at Veterans Memorial Park, view the cars before they set out for the evening cruise. Food will be available and all proceeds will go towards the Galva Freedom Fest Fourth of July Festivities.
20th Annual Apple Anne’s Antique & Flea Market

Bishop Hill Old Settlers’ Association Antique Car Show
Please join us in historic Bishop Hill and spend an automotive fun day in the Village. The park streets are lined with over 100 vintage cars and trucks each year. Bishop Hill’s Volunteer Firemen will be serving a grilled pork chop meal in the Park during the Car Show. Proceeds from this show go to the restoration and preservation of the Bishop Hill Colony School completed in 1861. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
