This cabin is a great place to stay for families or couples on romantic getaway. The cabin property is quiet with large old trees surrounding it for privacy. The view from is beautiful and you can see for miles and miles. A great place to have your morning cup of coffee is the back deck were you can take in all the beauty of Southern Illinois. The deck has a table and chairs for you to enjoy and gas grill for your use. Just inside you will find the full kitchen stocked with all the necessities you may need on during your stay. The living room has a grand TV with just the local channels. We have some DVDs for you to watch or you may bring your own. There are 3 bedrooms all with luxury sheets and beautiful bedding. The smallest has a Full Tempur Pedic bed and the larger rooms each have a queen bed.

Holiday House at Magnolia Manor

Memorial Day Service
An elaborate service, consists of the National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, lowering of the flag, Invocation, Civil War Re-enactors, guest speakers, laying of the wreath, benediction, rifle and canon salute and taps.
Christmas in the Village
Spend the day in downtown Cobden, where you can enjoy fresh-roasted nuts while listening to strolling Victorian carolers and madrigal players, take an old-fashioned horse-drawn surrey or wagon ride around the village, and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Feed Store, where handcrafted wreaths and gingerbread houses will be on display, shop the Christmas Bazaars and watch the lighting of the village tree.
Darrell Shemwell's Bar-B-Que was chosen "Best BBQ on the Old River Road" by Money magazine and was featured in the June 2003 issue of Chicago Magazine. Shemwell's is open 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm. Specialties on the menu are BBQ pork, beef brisket, ham, and turkey and are sliced, not chopped like other BBQ. Darrell also makes his own delicious BBQ sauce to enhance the hickory flavor of his scrumptious meat.

Holiday House at Magnolia Manor
The 14 room historic mansion is decorated for the Holidays, with many of the decorations for sale. Holiday luncheons can be scheduled with reservations. Luncheons include a served meal and a house tour. Regular tours are offered from 1 to 4pm daily.

Easter Sunrise Service
Annual Easter Sunrise Service held at the 111 foot Bald Knob Cross, music & refreshments.
The present church is the original structure, built in 1860. Dedicated in 1861 as Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul's Church, it features a 50-ft.-tall steeple, pews made of native yellow poplar, and balconies that span the full length of the building on both sides of the stairway.
This beautiful, historic 1865 mansion was once owned by the Halliday Family, and is now owned by the City of Cairo and open for tours.
Horseshoe Lake Conservation Area
Located in Alexander County, this area is known for its large stands of tupelo, swamp cottonwood and cypress trees. Also known for its Canadian goose and bald eagle observation vantage point during the fall and winter.
Cache River Days
This fun fest includes a flea market, parade, softball tournament, yard sales, BBQ and music, canoe tours on Saturday.
Union County Colorfest
Enjoy the fall color of the Shawnee National Forest and guided home tours. Shop at local orchards, farm markets and art and craft fairs. Sample wine along the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, participate in the fun run or biathlon race.

View the last and largest locks and dam that was constructed on the Ohio River.
