Rolling Hills Golf Course
For over 30 years, Rolling Hills has been providing an enjoyable golf experience and exceptional value for thousands of golfers. Family owned and operated, this 164 acre course facility offers an 18-hole Par 72 course and a 9-hole par 29 Executive course. Rolling Hills offers complete golf, food and beverage services throughout the day. Carts, clubs and practice balls are available for rent. Open daily 7 a.m. to dusk.
High Flyers Grille
High Flyers is a neighborhood bar and grill serving a full menu of appetizers, salads, soups, pastas, burgers, and steaks (including our famous Pepperloin kabab with garlic butter) and chicken.
Chairs on Parade
Chairs on Parade is an event where Carlinville businesses purchases a chair and decorates it to their liking. The event is all about bringing old fashioned fun, family and shopping together while supporting the local business community. The chairs will be on display outside of the businesses beginning on Saturday, August 6th. Part of the event includes the first ever Carlinville Restaurant Week from Monday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 28th, celebrating local food establishments and retail stores. The highlight of that week will occur on Friday, August 26th with a flotilla parade and afterwards an auction for chairs that are donated back to Shop Local First. The profit from the chairs will go to the local food bank. The night will also include Mid-West Largest Squirt Gun fight, and a street party with Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters rock band.
Pride Inc. Garden Tour
Tour the lush gardens of beautiful homes in Alton and Godfrey during this annual summer event. Enjoy a mix of contemporary, traditional and historic neighborhoods as you venture into some of the most beautifully landscaped gardens in the region. This is a self-guided tour. Godfrey Family Fun Fest with Fireworks
Come and let your colors burst with an evening full of fun and fireworks! Festivities will begin at 5 p.m. and continue through to the fireworks display around 9 p.m. Vendors, inflatables, climbing wall, zip line, cow train, games, concessions and much more to celebrate Independence Day. The Nature Institute
The Nature Institute is a non-profit land conservation and environmental education organization based in Godfrey, IL. Since its founding in 1980, The Nature Institute's board and staff have worked to foster an awareness and appreciation of the natural world through preservation, restoration, and education. The Nature Institute also owns and manages over 450 acres of protected land, such as the Olin Nature Preserve, the Mississippi Sanctuary, the Kemp and Cora Hutchinson Bird Sanctuary, and the Heartland Prairie Project at Gordon Moore Park. These natural areas provide unique places for the public to experience the diversity of the Riverbend area with its hardwood forests, prairies and wetlands. The preserves are open to the public and free to use from dawn to dusk.
RC Jet Rally
This remote control jet rally gathers some of the best scale model jets in the country. Live stunts and performances will be available to the public.
Try your hand at the Litchfield TriathLou at Lake Lou Yaeger. Swimming in Lake Lou Yaeger is the best open water swim you will have in the Midwest. There really is no comparison to this large beach with pristine flat racing water. The bike course is flat and fast with some great curves to keep you entertained the whole ride. Both the 5k and 10k runs see very honest mile paces with plenty of flats, and a couple hills throughout. Sprint and Olympic distances are available.
Route 66 Half Marathon, 5K, Mile Dash

22nd Annual Airport Open House and Fly In
You won't want to miss the 22nd annual Fly-In and car show. On Saturday, take a close look at warbirds, antique aircraft and automobiles on display. West Fork Encampment
This event will take you back in time with a historic re-enactment of military life from 1750-1820. Military and camping demonstrations will be provided daily. Both campers and public are welcome.

This open air market specialized in items prior to 1980 including: antique, vintage, and refurbished items. Hundreds of vendors flood the streets of Downtown Litchfield every second Sunday of the month from April to October from 9 AM to 3 PM, beginning on the corner of Union Avenue (Route 16) and State Street. Food is available and live entertainment happens all day in Library Park.
