Light Up the Holidays Parade and Festival
Light Up the Holidays Parade and Festival is held on the Friday following Thanksgiving each year. Activities begin at 10:00am and include the Renaissance Center Fun Fair, activities in the Joliet Historical Museum, Joliet Public Library, Gji's Sweet Shoppe, Jitters Coffeehouse, Chicken-N-Spice, The Red Goose Bakery and more. The Annual Festival of Trees held yearly inside the Rialto Square Theatre also add to the holiday festivities. Tree Lighting begins at 5:15pm in Van Buren Plaza Followed by the Light Up the Holidays Parade at 5:30pm.

3rd Annual Kayak Tour & Beach Camp Out
Come on down and camp out with on the sandy wooded beaches of the Illinois River. Primitive only camping at its best right between the I & M Canal and the Illinois River! No noisy RV's to listen to and better yet, there will be fireworks across from the campground area. At 7:30pm guests will be guided over to the state park where there will be a venetian boat parade guided kayak tour and then raft up and watch the fireworks show!
Columbus Day Weekend Fall Colors Kayak Tour & Beach Campout
Camp out on the wooded, sandy beaches of the Illinois River. A potluck dinner on the beach, will be followed by a movie, via a pico projector, under the stars. There will be campfires on the beach to enjoy! This event is perfect for the first time camper! A full hot breakfast will be served in the morning before setting out on a guided kayak tour for approx. 2 hours. This trip will explore either the Mazon River or the Illinois River and the wildlife along the way!
25th Pumpkin Pie Bicycle Ride

Stone Mill Museum
Built in 1856, the Stone Mill was originally used to produce flour. In 1965, the building was deeded to the Sandwich Historical Society. The building itself is a museum exhibit which includes the original beams and support posts made of 125 year old timber. The historical society first opened the museum to the public in 1969 and now includes three floors of exhibits. Among the exhibits are fire fighting equipment, antique car, furniture, signage, photos and many other items from the area's past. The museum is open every Sunday, 1-4pm during warm months (April to October).

Christmas at the Farm
The Lyon farm and village is operated by the Kendall County Historical Society. For two Sundays in December, kids get to experience what an old time Christmas was like. Tables are set up with eight different holiday crafts. This exciting day includes a train display around the Christmas tree and naturally, they get to meet, and have their picture taken with Santa Claus. A story teller will read some holiday classics and they can enjoy roasted chestnuts. Chili and hot dogs are available for sale. Dec. 7 & 14 1-4 pm.

Cruise Night in Morris
Years ago, there was a tradition in Morris called "Buzzing the Gut", a simple way of saying cruising Liberty Street. Morris is bringing that tradition back to downtown. Any Classic car owners are invited to participate. For a minimal registration fee of $10.00, car owners can display their cars on Liberty Street starting at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Entry closes at 8:00 p.m. No rain dates. New York Street Memorial Bridge
Spanning the entire scenic Fox River, the bridge's features include the circa 1930 “Memory” and “Victory” statues in honor of fallen soldiers.
Tour the oldest remaining structure in the village. The home was originally owned by Montgomery’s founder, Daniel Gray. A museum offers an educational history of the Village of Montgomery. Open 2nd Tuesday and 3rd Sunday of each month, 12:30-2:30 p.m. May-October.
Silver Springs State Fish and Wildlife Area
A pool of clear bubbling water which sparkles like silver on sunny days provides the basis for the name of Silver Springs State Fish and Wildlife Area. Even on extremely cold days, this pool does not freeze, and visitors marvel at the bordering beds of watercress. Majestic oaks and prairie grasslands provide a panorama of natural beauty to park visitors. The Fox River runs through this picturesque area which is also home to several small manmade lakes. A natural prairie restoration project gives visitors a feeling of the original landscape with native wildflowers, songbirds, waterfowl and upland game. Picnicking, fishing and hiking are popular pastimes in summer, with ice fishing, sledding, ice skating and cross-country ski trails available for the winter sports lover. For relaxing, exercising or just enjoying nature, Silver Springs is the perfect get away location.

Race Fan Rally
The Race Fan Rally is a yearly NASCAR event on the second Thursday of September and a kickoff event to the NASCAR weekend at the Speedway. Event includes plenty of entertainment on main stage and other locations, food, beer tents, NASCAR drivers, simulators, classic cars, prize and raffle drawings, everything NASCAR related. Event held from 4 to 10 pm on Chicago Street and side streets.
