Labor Day Family Potluck Campout / Kayak Tour
head out for a Gourmet Potluck Campout Glamping-style with a movie and breakfast. We bring/do everything so you can kick back and relax! This event is perfect for the first time camper! A full hot breakfast will be served in the morning before setting out on a guided kayak tour for approx. 2 hours.

The Legends Tribute is a musical tribute to the stars. This year's performers will be all about rock, soul and country; performing as Elvis Presley, Barry White and Johnny Cash.
Dream Machines Roamer Cruise and Car Show
Join us for the Annual Labor Day Dream Machines Roamer Cruise and Car Show in the downtown business district. The car show will be held Saturday from 9 am – 3 pm with trophies awarded. Mazon Creek Fossil Tour
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn about the environment, ecosystems, and climate of Northern Illinois as it was 300 million years ago by collecting fossil specimens at the Mazon Fossil Beds. The adventure begins with a hayride to the original site of the discoveries along the Mazon Creek as it was in the mid-1800s and the opportunity to collect the unique concretions such as ferns and horsetails. Bring a bucket, rock hammer, shoes to wear in the creek, and casual clothing. Everyone will have specimens to take home to remember the day. Afterwards, more fun is to be had with cocktails and al fresco dining to celebrate your finds. All proceeds will go to the Canal Corridor Association to help preserve I & M Canal history, protect its environment, and create tourism.

Easter Seals 5K Run/Walk for the Kids
Pull out your running shoes because Easter Seals of LaSalle and Bureau Counties' annual 5K Run/Walk for the Kids will kick off during Ottawa's Riverfest festivities, Saturday Aug. 1. The 5K Run/Walk for the Kids starts and ends at Ottawa Township High School, 211 East Main St., Ottawa. Check in and race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m., runners start at 8:00 a.m. The run/walk follows a USA Track and Field certified course, winding through the historic east side of Ottawa including the scenic Illinois and Michigan Canal passage. 99% of all money raised at this event remains local, helping local children to achieve their maximum potential. Pre-registration is open now on line at www.runsignup.com. The registration fee is $25 until July 24 and $30 after. Easter Seals will be offering a new shorter race just for for kids immediately following the 5K awards at Ottawa High School. The race is $10 and each child that participates will receive a t-shirt and prize.
