Heavenly View is a luxury cabin with views that will take your breath away! Nestled near the top of the Mississippi River bluff, this cabin provides amazing views of the Mississippi River valley and the surrounding property. The cabin sits on 50 private acres which you can enjoy from the covered patios and screened-in porch that adjoin three sides of the cabin. Wake up in the morning with a cup of coffee and step outside to listen to the wild turkeys gobble around you or watch the whitetail deer feed in the meadow at the bottom of the valley. Savor the sunset and its beautiful colors across the hills.
Illinois Xtreme Whitetails Lodge
The finest accommodations await every hunter and guest at Illinois Xtreme. Relax after a hard day’s hunt in our spacious great room. Our 53 inch big screen TV with satellite helps provide all the comforts of “at home” entertainment. If you prefer a quiet evening of solitude in preparation for the next days’ hunt you can retire to your own private guest room. Each guest room at Illinois Xtreme comes with one full bed, a set of twin bunk beds and its own private bathroom. Other amenities include a TV with satellite service, ceiling fan and an A/C – heater unit in each room. With 8,800 feet of living space there plenty of room to stretch out and relax at Illinois Xtreme.
Watkins Place at McCully
Get away from it all and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature under the shade of the catalpa trees in this two bedroom cabin in scenic Calhoun County. The Watkins Place is private and secluded with access to the hiking trails at the McCully Heritage Project. Amenities include a full kitchen, coffee maker, refrigerator, all kitchen utensils, towels and linens and board games. There is no TV reception, internet or phone service.

Straight Home Bar and Grill
A bit off the beaten path, Straight Home Bar and Grill is well worth the effort to find it. The daily lunch specials are out of the ordinary and can run the gamut from crab alfredo entrees to chicken and dumplings to barbeque pork steak. There is no breakfast despite the early opening. But steak entrees are featured every Friday and Saturday. Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 1 a.m., Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 2 a.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. - 2 a.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 2 a.m.

William Watson Hotel
Our hotel was built in 1838 by William Watson. It was frequented by Abraham Lincoln and his contemporaries when practicing law in the old Pike County courthouse. We renovated for over two years and reopened in December 2008. All of us here at WWH are passionate about Pike County, and want to share that passion with you. Old School Museum
The now renovated Old School Museum offers visitors a view of the history of Scott County and Winchester. This museum preserves and displays artifacts related to local history, agriculture, transportation, communication and public education. Also included is a collection of interesting/unique artifacts from the businesses and society of early Scott County. The Romanesque style building was Winchester’s public elementary school from 1901 through 1958.

Hillview Scenic Bluff Trail
As you drive along the Hillview Scenic Bluff Road you experience a rare opportunity to visualize the pristine natural beauty of the early nineteenth century, agricultural farming of the river delta, the architectural significance of the early English settlers in their hi-style limestone homesteads, as well as the original beaut of the native prairie grasses that roll gently up into the limestone palisades along the river valley. This lower Illinois River Valley region is known by many archeologists to be the "Nile of the North America." Check out the online map of this trail in Greene County where you can click to learn of the early people and places of Green County's Lower Illinois Valley. While out driving the trail, please remember that most of the sites on the map are easily seen from the road and all are on private property.

McMaster Woods Nature Preserve
McMaster Woods is a beautiful oak woodland and barrens that occurs on deep ravines, steep slopes and a ridgetop. Limestone bedrock outcrops along the bases of ravines and an intermittent stream crosses the northwest corner of the preserve. A great variety of wildflowers, grasses, sedges and ferns occur here, including large-flowered bellwort, spikenard, false dragonhead, wood reed and maidenhair fern. A small, but interesting barrens remnant occurs on the ridgetop.
