World Robot Olympiad-USA 2016 National Competition
WRO-USA is a rapidly growing competition, with plans to expand to 150 teams across at least 15 states in 2016, culminating in the National Championship at Northern Illinois University. Now in its third year in the United States, WRO-USA is expanding its program to reach even more young people throughout the country. They not only encourages young people to develop the necessary technical skills, but teaches significant life skills as well. Visit the Northern Illinois University Convocation Center on September 4, 2016 to watch the World Robot Olympiad-USA 2016 National Competition. 2017 NCAA National Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms
The 2017 NCAA National Golf Championships will be held at Rich Harvest Farms and hosted for the first time by Northern Illinois University, with play taking place from May 19-24 (women) and May 26-31 (men). Sugar Grove will be only the third Illinois city to host the Division I Golf Championships. Cook County’s Olympia Fields Country Club hosted the men’s championship in 1943, while Conway Farms Golf Club outside of Chicago played host to the men’s as well in 1997.

2016 Harvest of Quilts and Textile Art Show
The DeKalb County Quilter's Guild invites you to our biennial quilt show, October 1-2, 2016. Enjoy this year's expanding our offerings to other textile and fiber arts, such as weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, wearable art and more. The featured artist will be Lorraine Torrence, who makes wearable art and quilts, and will be presenting three lectures, "Design Principles for Quilters," "Finding Your Voice," and "Creative Clothing for Everybody." In addition to 300+ quilts on display, there will be exhibits in other disciplines and special exhibits including the Hoffman Challenge and a trunk show by SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates.) There will be demonstrations, workshops, lectures, and a vendors mall with new and longtime favorites. Food will also be available to purchase.
DeKalb Farmers Market
The DeKalb Farmers Market features locally-grown produce, wine, baked goods, flowers and artisan crafts. Live music is presented each week by the Egyptian Theatre. It's a great way to enjoy an afternoon. Open Thursday's from 10-2 June through September.
