Galena Wine Lovers' Weekend
At the heart of the weekend, the Grand Tasting and Wine Auction offer more than 300 varieties of hand-picked wines and spirits from which to sample. The Grand Tasting held on both Friday and Saturday night includes a commemorative wine glass and hors d'oeuvres. Enjoy wine dinners, wine, spirit and beer tastings, cooking demonstrations, local winery tours and brunches all weekend.

Chinatown Summer Fair
This iconic annual celebration is one of the most ethnically unique outdoor events in the Midwest. Attracting tens of thousands from throughout the region, Chinatown Summer Fair is a true celebration of Far East beauty and culture including food, art and music. Visitors will be amazed by the Lion Dance Procession as well as classical Chinese dance and martial arts demonstrations. 64th Annual Midsommar Swedish Days Festival
This “granddaddy” of Illinois festivals features a host of family-friendly activities with live musical entertainment, a carnival, rosemaling show, pet parade, kids’ day fun, grand parade, the state’s largest music competition, multi-ethnic food plus great shopping in our historic downtown. Geneva’s train station is located just blocks from the festivities.

Effingham Farmer's Market provides our community with fresh, locally-grown food, art, live music and quality artisan goods, produced right here in downtown Effingham, on the Courthouse Museum lawn. Cedarville Summer Celebration
The 9th annual Cedarville Summer Celebration is a collaborative effort by the Village of Cedarville, Cedarville Lions Club and RAMP. There will be free hot dogs, chips and soda starting a 5 pm. There will be demonstrations by Cedarville Fire Department, games for kids, a vendor market, pillow bingo and Cake-n-roll with all proceeds to benefit RAMP services. There is no charge to attend the event, but there will be charges for individual games.

Fall Art Stroll
For one day each fall, downtown Kankakee is transformed into a center for arts and entertainment. The Art Stroll brings together artisans from all over the Midwest, including painters, photographers, jewelry makers, potters, glass makers, and a variety of music and performance artists.
Quincy’s spring event opener includes a parade, an annual tradition held the first weekend in May when traditionally the dogwood trees that line Maine street are in their glory. The parade travels from 24th to 4th & Maine beginning at 9:30am Saturday. Washington Park brings vendors, contests for children and carnival rides both Saturday and Sunday.
86th Annual Lake County Fair

Free to enter the gates. Grandstand acts $5-$10 per person.

18th Annual Art in the Park
The 18th Annual Art in the Park is a juried show of fine art, craft, and design. The show features over 100 artists from the Midwest displaying works of ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, and more. Food vendors will be on site selling delicious snacks and treats. Elmhurst Art Museum will be open 10-5 both days of the show with free admission and will sponsor children's activities. Wilder Mansion will be open from open 11-2.

71st Annual National Sweetcorn Festival
Diligence, family, and a whole lot of corn! Each and every Labor Day weekend, for the past 70 years, the Hoopeston Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) hosts the National Sweetcorn Festival. Classic American festival events include a midway full of carnival rides, games, and stands of delicious fried goodness, smashing cars at the demo derby, and a grand parade featuring marching bands, pageant queens, and plenty of candy. Being the National Sweetcorn Capital of the World, Hoopeston has to have their own unique twists to the festival. An antique steam engine cooks more than 50 tons hot buttered sweetcorn and is served up to approximately 20,000 visitors over the course of the weekend free of charge! With a line that wraps around the park, it is clear that Hoopeston really does sweetcorn the right way, the best way.

Celebrate the Great Lakes Naval Station's 103th Birthday
Come and celebrate the Naval Station's 103th Birthday in a "BIG" way! Enjoy two full days of "fire-cracking" festival fun at one of the biggest celebrations in the region! Each day, the celebration will include three stages of exciting live music and family entertainment, a bingo tent with thousands of dollars worth of prizes, a craft fair with handmade items, the Gridiron. Experience with interactive football activities including a "Kicks for Cash" competition, the Kid's Zone with plenty to do for children of all ages, roving entertainment/costumed characters, thrilling carnival rides and games, a 5K Twilight Run, delicious festival food and beverage booths all available from local area vendors, and lots and lots more!
