Arthur Amish Country Cheese Festival
This 3-day outdoor family street festival features 75-80 craft and food vendors, live entertainment all three days, a ceremonial cutting of a 300 pound wheel of cheese, 700 pounds of cheese given away, a 60 foot sub sandwich given away, antique tractor show, kiddie tractor pull, camel rides, stagecoach rides, buggy rides. Also a parade on Monday, and a kid-zone with games, inflatables, pony rides, rock climbing wall, 5K/10K run, car show and much more.
4th of July Celebration events includes: Freedom Run a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run; a Gospel Show; a Parade; Free Concert at the City Park and much more. Capping off the Freedom Fest is one of the largest fireworks display in Southern Illinois.
Geneseo Christmas Walk
Geneseo’s spirit sparkles downtown with Christmas magic in the air. Each storefront window has family, friends and even animals depicting various scenes. Enjoy chestnuts roasting. Make memories for young and old. Join the Jingle Bell Run and other family activities during the afternoon and enjoy the lighted Christmas parade at 5PM. Watch for Santa. Hours: 8am to 9pm.
MuckFest MS - Chicago
The run is pure athletic hilarity on a 5K course full of mud, and featuring 15+ outrageous obstacles that will spin, swing and fling you up, down and sideways. Entry fees are $55 by Apr 29 and $105 on race day.
Annawan Canal Ambush Mini Tri-Atholon and 5K
Experience the stunning Hennepin Canal on a beautiful autumn day. Run on the multi-purpose trail, bike along Patriot Way and paddle down the Hennepin canal to victory! Single and duo entries are encouraged. Location is Hennepin Canal Bridge, Rte. 78 ~ North of Annawan, IL
Hog Day Stampede
Join us and compete in the four-mile Stampede, a one-mile run and a quarter-mile "fun run" for younger children. T-shirt awards, children under 7 receive a free t-shirt. Begins at 8 am.
North Aurora Days
The Village of North Aurora is proud to continue the North Aurora Days tradition of providing a fun-filled weekend of activities and entertainment for the whole family in our great community. The sponsors, volunteers, and participants of North Aurora Days have been working hard to plan and provide a great celebration filled with fun for the entire family. This year’s festival will begin on Friday, August 7th with various events during the day. The emergency vehicle parade kicks off the Friday night festivities leading the spectators to our main stage, where they will enjoy a variety of food, beverages, and musical entertainment. Saturday, August 8th will be filled with a 5/10k race, fishing derby, Touch-a-Truck and more all ending on Sunday, August 9th with the fun filled pet parade.
6th Annual Bloody Mary Fest
Judged by a host of celebrity experts and real people, professional and amateur mixologists compete for the title of Best Bloody Mary in the Midwest. In it’s sixth year, the festival includes the very popular 5K Buddy Challenge, live entertainment, plenty of food vendors, beverages, and more! This event is held at Everts Park from 10am-5pm. Big Dawg Dare
I double dawg dare you to try this Extreme 5K run at Litchfield’s Big Dawg Dare. You will run over obstacles that will challenge the biggest of the Dawgs
Route 66 Half-Marathon
Race down memory lane during this one of a kind Route 66 Half Marathon hosted by the City of Litchfield and RaceMaker Productions. If a half marathon is too much for you, do not worry, we have a race for everyone. Try running the 5K or Mile Dash.
Swimming in Lake Lou Yeager is the best OWS you will have in the Midwest. There really is no comparison to this large beach with pristine flat racing water. The bike course is flat and fast with some great curves to keep you entertained the whole ride. Both the 5k and 10k runs see very honest mile paces with plenty of flats, and a couple hills throughout.
Orangeville Education Foundation 5K Trail Run
October 3, ORANGEVILLE EDUCATION FOUNDATION 5K TRAIL RUN. Richland Creek Trailhead, 8 am. Join in a 5K run on the Jane Addams Trail to benefit the Orangeville schools. The scenic route follows Richland Creek; it is a flat, out and back course on a crushed limestone surface. Refreshments after the race for participants, plus door prizes, goody bags and more. Twilight Shuffle 5K Run
Run through the historic neighborhoods of the east side of Libertyville. Professional timing. Families are encouraged (no children under 9) to run. After finishing the course, all participants are invited to join their fellow racers for a fabulous post-race party (including light dinner and non-alcoholic drinks for all registered participants) at the new Mickey Finn's Brewery. No registrations will be accepted or processed after 12pm on race day.

Easter Seals 5K Run/Walk for the Kids
Pull out your running shoes because Easter Seals of LaSalle and Bureau Counties' annual 5K Run/Walk for the Kids will kick off during Ottawa's Riverfest festivities, Saturday Aug. 1. The 5K Run/Walk for the Kids starts and ends at Ottawa Township High School, 211 East Main St., Ottawa. Check in and race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m., runners start at 8:00 a.m. The run/walk follows a USA Track and Field certified course, winding through the historic east side of Ottawa including the scenic Illinois and Michigan Canal passage. 99% of all money raised at this event remains local, helping local children to achieve their maximum potential. Pre-registration is open now on line at www.runsignup.com. The registration fee is $25 until July 24 and $30 after. Easter Seals will be offering a new shorter race just for for kids immediately following the 5K awards at Ottawa High School. The race is $10 and each child that participates will receive a t-shirt and prize.
