Dozens of hummingbirds should be present to "wow" the observers. After the birds are captured and banded (through special permits), visitors may wish to adopt one (for a $5 donation to the Lincoln Land Association of Bird Banders, sponsor of the event) and have the privilege of releasing it back to the wild. Those who adopt birds will receive an attractive signed certificate and will be notified if their bird is ever recaptured. Held at the Trail of Tears State Forest pavilion, Jonesboro, 9:00 am to noon. There is no charge for the event.

Leave your completed/stamped tasting ticket at the last winery visited to be entered for a chance to win a great prize from one of our associate members. This cabin is a great place to stay for families or couples on romantic getaway. The cabin property is quiet with large old trees surrounding it for privacy. The view from is beautiful and you can see for miles and miles. A great place to have your morning cup of coffee is the back deck were you can take in all the beauty of Southern Illinois. The deck has a table and chairs for you to enjoy and gas grill for your use. Just inside you will find the full kitchen stocked with all the necessities you may need on during your stay. The living room has a grand TV with just the local channels. We have some DVDs for you to watch or you may bring your own. There are 3 bedrooms all with luxury sheets and beautiful bedding. The smallest has a Full Tempur Pedic bed and the larger rooms each have a queen bed.

The present church is the original structure, built in 1860. Dedicated in 1861 as Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul's Church, it features a 50-ft.-tall steeple, pews made of native yellow poplar, and balconies that span the full length of the building on both sides of the stairway.
