The Woman’s Board of Winnetka Community House proudly presents Antiques + Modernism Winnetka. This spectacular show is a fusion of the former Winnetka Antiques Show and the Modernism Show. Nationally recognized as two of the Midwest’s most well-respected events, its combined 60 year history and prevailing reputation speaks to the caliber of this highly anticipated show. The combined event will encompass periods of design ranging from the 17th century to the mid 20th century. Esteemed dealers from across the country will showcase fine examples of American, British, French and Asian antiques, as well as pieces from the Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Mid-Century design movements. The exhibition and sale will offer furniture, silver, ceramics, jewelry, garden antiques, lighting, rugs, textiles, fine and folk art, architectural artifacts and even more. Collectors, designers and hobbyists alike will delight in the extensive inventory of beautiful objects presented at the historic Winnetka Community House.
The Attic Playhouse strives to showcase a broad spectrum of theatre as an art form by producing classic plays, small musicals, one-acts, improvisational and skit comedies and theatre for young audiences. Special attention is given to producing original scripts and encouraging new talent. At least one production a year is dedicated to these original works.

Chicago Botanic Garden
The Chicago Botanic Garden opened a little more than 40 years ago as a beautiful place to visit, and it has matured into one of the world's great living museums and conservation science centers. Each year, nearly one million people visit the Garden's 26 gardens and four natural areas, uniquely situated on 385 acres of land on and around nine islands. Six miles of shoreline extend along 81 acres of water, including the Great Basin, North Lake, and Skokie River Corridor. The Garden also has a renowned Bonsai Collection.
Chicago Botanic Garden Farmer's Market
First and third Sundays of the month from May until October (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Gather seasonal produce, flowers, herbs, and other local, sustainable products at this bimonthly Garden event that is held rain or shine. Talk with vendors and sample fresh fare. Visitors may purchase a special market bag from the Garden Shop to carry their purchases home. Free admission; $25 per car (includes tax) .
Chicago Botanic Garden Loop
The Chicago Botanic Garden Loop offers a moderate level of difficulty to those wanting to experience quiet beauty in far north Cook County. The 385-acre garden is home to 2.4 million plants and is one of the most visited gardens in the country. Hiking will take you 4.5 hours and with almost 7 miles of trails, mostly paved you will get to experience both the lagoons and the Botanic Garden.
Chicago Botanic Garden- Weekend Family Classes
Together, adults and children can explore cool things about how plants connect to science, art, history, and culture. Each program includes a variety of hands-on activities and projects, as well as opportunities to bring the Garden home. Programs run from November through April on Saturdays.
Chicago Botanic Gardens Farmers' Market
The Garden welcomes local, sustainable farmers and producers to this public farmers' market on the first and third Sundays of the month from June through October. Admission to the market is free to Garden visitors and will be held rain or shine. Visitors may purchase a special market bag from the Garden Shop to carry their purchases home.
Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema
The mission of the Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema (CFIC) is to effectively nurture an appreciation of Israeli culture in the Chicago metropolitan area by multiple generations of American Jews, Israelis and the community at large. Screenings October 28 to November 8, 2015, will take place in Chicago at the famed Music Box Theatre and AMC River East, and in the northern suburb of Northbrook IL, at the AMC Northbrook Court. We will also hold two additional screenings at the Marcus Theatre in Chicago Heights on November 15. Showcased, with occasional mini-retrospectives, are Israel’s most current, internationally award-winning feature films, documentaries, shorts and TV shows of the previous 12 months, with guest appearances by Israeli film stars, filmmakers, film scholars, film critics and other film experts to add context and increase the educational and entertainment value of the film-going experience.
