2015 Class 1A & 2A Boys Basketball Tournament
Since 1996, the March Madness Experience™, a family-oriented extravaganza of fun, interactive games, historical exhibits and good times, has been an integral part of the Boys State Finals in Peoria. Just across the concourse from the tournament action at Carver Arena, the March Madness Experience fills up the Peoria Civic Center's huge Exhibition Hall. It's free to fans who have game tickets, and just $2 for everyone else. Once inside, there's no charge for any of the attractions. So mark your calendar and make a date to visit and enjoy Boys State Finals and the March Madness Experience in Peoria.
2015 Flying Gish Festival and Bow Fishing Tournament
Weigh in is at 2pm at Bass Pro Shops in East Peoria IL. $120/team of up to four Activities: 5am bowfishing tournament begins from Bass Pro Shops 10am-3pm-Flying Fish Festival-Bass Pro Shops Parking Lot Taste Testing, Entertainment, Kids Activities, IL. This event will include cash prizes, activities on both sides of the river, educational displays, and local chefs preparing cuisine using the flying fish. The tournament is for registered competitors only, however, the additional activities are open to the public. The money raised from this event will go to support the Union Sportsman Alliance and the Preservation of the Peoria Labor Temple. All partners of this event support The Flying Fish Festival as one piece of a larger effort to deal with an Illinois River invasive species: Asian Carp. This Flying Fish Festival gives locals and visitors an opportunity to experience the excitement both on the water, shore and on the plate.

All ticket sales for each of the 2015 IHSA Boys Basketball tournaments are handled directly by the Peoria Civic Center.
87th Annual Gamma Phi Circus
2016 marks the 87th anniversary of the founding of Gamma Phi at Illinois State University in 1929 by Clifford "Pop" Horton. Come experience the oldest collegiate circus in the United States! Step right up and see fire-eaters, trapeze artists, tumblers, and more! Before Saturday’s 1 p.m. show, there will be a pre-show children’s carnival that begins at noon with games and activities for all ages. This special event is kid-approved and open to everyone that has a youth ticket to the matinee show. Admission to the carnival is the matinee ticket. The pre-matinee carnival is sponsored by the ISU Student Alumni Council.

Located at the Atlanta Museum, these three exhibits and 20 other prints depict a variety of Lincoln and Logan County events. It is located at the site of an early political rally during Abraham Lincoln's campaign for President.

Atlanta Public Library
Built in 1908, this National Register Property is one of Illinois’ few octagonal-shaped public libraries. Its gilded rotunda and interior rooms, filled with solid-oak woodwork, reflect its classic architecture. Local volunteers who comprise the “Keepers of the Clock” take turns on a weekly basis hand-winding the 1909 Seth Thomas clock housed in the library’s clock tower.
Atlanta Public Library and Museum
Located across from Route 66 Park in historic downtown Atlanta, Illinois, the Atlanta Public Library is a hub of community activity and an attraction for tourists who are making the Route 66 pilgrimage. Throughout the year, the Library offers a wide range of programs for children, teens and adults. From reading, arts, and crafts activities for children to outdoor family programming, adult book clubs, writing workshops, programs for seniors, informational programs, and special events, the Library has something for everyone. Built in 1908, this octagon-shaped building is one of the few of its kind in the state. The museum in the basement of the library houses pieces of local history. The library and museum are both on the National Register of Historic Places.
