The 18-hole "Hidden Lakes" course at the Hidden Lakes Country Club facility in Sheffield, Illinois features 5,705 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70 . The course rating is 115.0 and it has a slope rating of 67. Designed by Steven Halberg, the Hidden Lakes golf course opened in 1921.
Chapel Hill Golf Course and Event Center is a public 18 hole golf course and event venue located southeast of Princeton, in north-central Illinois. Tracing its roots to the original Bureau Valley Country Club (BVCC), this once private course is steeped in tradition and history dating back to 1909, where it began as a simple stop along the Inter-Urban rail line between Princeton and Bureau Junction.
Maple Bluff Golf Club is Geneseo's only 18 hole golf course and the best kept secret in the Quad Cities area. This par 72 championship layout is open to the public and can be enjoyed by golfers of all levels, from any of the four sets of tees.
Baker Park offers a par 71, 18 hole golf course. The front nine is all flat holes, while the back 9 offers a little more of a challenge with the hills. Need to warm up before your round? Or just need to perfect your swing? Then take some practice balls at our driving range. Tokens can be purchased at the clubhouse. And be sure to try out the small par 3 practice course located at the far end of the driving range. Stop in to the 19th Hole Clubhouse for snacks and refreshments.

Ribtober Fest downtown Geneseo will feature a rib cook-off contest, bags tournament and outdoor concert all in one! The competition begins with fifteen competitors. Ribs will be smoked, cured and possible other treatments, all ribs will be cooked on site. Limited VIP tasting passes at $10 will go fast. Passes include 1 Pint of Beer and one rib tasting from four different competitors. Vote for your favorite. Winner is determined by most votes received. All ages are welcome and FREE admission for all. Music provided during the day and the evening is Live with the Roy Krunk Trio beginning at 7 p.m until 10 p.m.

Timber Terror, a bone chilling experience that recreates and relives the Witter Hills Asylum. Patients experienced a macabre, sadistic torment while housed at the facility. A patient revolt took place and the Witter Hill Asylum was burnt to the ground. Survivors had not where to go and hid in the woods for years. The patient's spirits lurk in the woods and become vocal each October with unsettling noises and vibes coming from the area which once was the Witter Hills Asylum. Hours: 7pm to 11pm, Fridays and Saturdays. Admission: $10

A must-see attraction in Kewanee is the Woodland Palace at Francis Park, the first “green” home in Illinois. This unusual home was built way ahead of its time and is filled with engineering wonders. Learn about the quirky and eccentric man who built and lived in the home. Fred Francis was an artist, poet, inventor, builder, mathematician, engineer, and a naturist. Francis started to build the home in 1890 and worked on it for the next thirty-six years. It features hand-carved molding, a water purification system, and is the first house in the state of Illinois to have air-conditioning without the aid of electricity. View the sophisticated achievements of disappearing windows, doors, and more. Visit a home where everything seems to work in harmony. Woodland Palace is open seven days a week from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. April through October 1.

Take a look back in history and visit the Steeple building, built in 1854. Architecturally intriguing it is a three-story stucco Greek Revival structure with a two-story tower and 66 six-over-six windows. It was built to be used as a hotel, but instead was used as a dwelling, school, administration building, and later housed a bank, telephone switchboard and apartments. The museum is home to the Bishop Hill Heritage Association offices. The rooms and exhibit showcase historic artifacts and photos of early Colony days and take visitors back through time to a quaint prairie village. Group tours by appointment, small fee. Open Daily 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday Noon to 4 p.m.
