Great River Road Run
We offer a half marathon walk/run, 5K walk/run a 10K walk/run as well as a 13.1 and 55 mile bike ride. The race begins in Hamilton, Illinois, travels along the mighty Mississippi and ends in Nauvoo, Illinois at the state park. The Great River Road Run is one of the most scenic sport races in America and the proceeds benefit the Hancock County, Illinois Food Pantries.
Fall Festival at Lincoln’s New Salem
Come and see what a typical autumn life was like on the 1830's Illinois prairie. There will be costumed interpreters demonstrating daily tasks such as candle dipping, butter churning, soap making, basket making, spinning wool, gardening, natural dyeing, and fishing with nets. As well as a demonstration of meat smoking that will take place in one of the log village's period smokehouses. Wild game cooking will be demonstrated in the log homes and you are also welcome to step down into the cellar at the tavern to see how fruits and vegetables were preserved during the winter.

Woodland Palace at Francis Park
A must-see attraction in Kewanee is the Woodland Palace at Francis Park, the first “green” home in Illinois. This unusual home was built way ahead of its time and is filled with engineering wonders. Learn about the quirky and eccentric man who built and lived in the home. Fred Francis was an artist, poet, inventor, builder, mathematician, engineer, and a naturist. Francis started to build the home in 1890 and worked on it for the next thirty-six years. It features hand-carved molding, a water purification system, and is the first house in the state of Illinois to have air-conditioning without the aid of electricity. Ryan's Round Barn

Cannon Park Community Market is a producer-only market that features many of the Southern Illinois region’s farmers, growers, and artisans. Wednesdays from 3-7pm at the Carterville Community Center in Cannon Park, the market provides the Tri-C area with fresh local foods, artisan crafts, and family-friendly activities.
Saukie Golf Course
This golf course is a stunning example of a golf course designed from the early part of the 20th century. Saukie was built in 1927 (opened in 1928) and designed by Thomas Bendelow. This public course is considered to be an “executive length" course and is a classic example of a short course that will challenge every golfer. Tee times available 6 a.m to 6 p.m.
Park Hills Golf Course
This award-winning (3 1/2 stars in Golf Digest) public course offers incomparable playing conditions on two 18 hole, 72-par courses. The gently rolling terrain, manicured greens and abundant wildflowers make Park Hills Golf Couse the destination for thousands of visitors every year. The West Course is 6600 yards, and the East Course is 6400 yards. Watered fairways, varying distance tees, a 300 yard driving range, clubhouse and pro shop are offered. Illinois Game and Pet Breeders Fall Swap Meet
This swap meet involves the buying, selling and trading of game birds, animals, pets and supplies. Vendors will also be available with local honey, garden plants, flowers, and a small flea market. Events opens at 6 am. Gate Fee: $3.00 per person over the age of 12.

Knox County Scenic Drive
The Knox County Scenic Drive is a self-guided car tour that occurs the first two full weekends of October (Saturday & Sunday), allowing you to navigate your way through the small towns of Knox County. You will encounter old traditions, crafts and skills at each of the stops along the way. Two one-room schoolhouses, four buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a railroad depot, an 1832 log cabin, museums and century old chapels will be open for visitors to explore. Stops include two in Galesburg, two in Knoxville, Maquon, Orange Chapel, Woodland Farms and Walnut Grove Barn.
Chalet Hills Golf Club
