Roodhouse Sesquicentennial Celebration
Come celebrate 150 years of food, family and fun in Roodhouse! Festivities include the "There Is No Place Like Home" parade, car show, youth day, heath fair, demonstrators and craft vendors, quilt show, amusement rides, little miss pageant, historical museum, beer tent, BINGO games, historical play, and community church service. Plenty of food vendors and two stages of free entertainment daily. Free parking and free admission.
Yorkville's 4th of July Celebration
The Yorkville Independence Day Parade steps off on Game Farm Road and proceeds to Somonauk Street, King Street, West Main Street, Church Street and ends at the water tower. Town Square activities begin immediately after the parade and will include children's foot races, rides, water fights, food vendors and a performance by the Yorkville Community Band. Fireworks begin at dusk near the corner of Rt. 47 and Countryside Pkwy. The Yorkville Big Band is scheduled to perform at 8 pm at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home. All 4th of July activities are free and open to the public. Food and drink are available for purchase.
Midtown Ethnic Parade and Festival
The third annual Day of Celebration of all the diverse cultures in Rockford includes a parade of colors and customs with dancing dragons, bagpipes, ethnic dance troupes, music and more. The festival features international foods, a beer garden, performances, information, genealogy, a children's activity area, and much more. The festival begins at noon, the parade begins at 1:00pm.
Steger Days of Music
Steger Days of Music is a three-day family-friendly music festival located in Steger, Illinois. The event will feature craft and merchandise vendors, as well as a variety of food trucks and booths. There will be activities for the whole family to enjoy during the course of the festival. $20 for Saturday Music Headliner Joe Nichols.
Land of the Free, Home of the Brave: Aurora's Independence Day Celebration
The City of Aurora's Fourth of July Parade is a popular, not-to-miss parade for the whole family. This year's theme is "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave." Join the thousands of spectators lining the downtown parade route and display your patriotism and civic pride while watching the fabric of the community pass in front of you. The event will begin with a pre-parade ceremony at 9:15 a.m. outside the Paramount Theatre After the parade, enjoy free family activities and fireworks in two locations. Fireworks Celebration: the City of Lights will live up to its name with a pyrotechnic extravaganza illuminating the night sky with a rainbow of colors! Free park and ride shuttle service available 6-9 pm.
Chairs on Parade
Chairs on Parade is an event where Carlinville businesses purchases a chair and decorates it to their liking. The event is all about bringing old fashioned fun, family and shopping together while supporting the local business community. The chairs will be on display outside of the businesses beginning on Saturday, August 6th. Part of the event includes the first ever Carlinville Restaurant Week from Monday, August 22nd through Sunday, August 28th, celebrating local food establishments and retail stores. The highlight of that week will occur on Friday, August 26th with a flotilla parade and afterwards an auction for chairs that are donated back to Shop Local First. The profit from the chairs will go to the local food bank. The night will also include Mid-West Largest Squirt Gun fight, and a street party with Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters rock band.
Yorkville Hometown Days Festival
The 2016 Hometown Days Festival is a family oriented event that provides entertainment the entire family can enjoy! We are excited to bring back again this year the past favorites such as the Pride and Joy Car Show, the Baby Contest, carnival, and live musical performances. Geneseo’s spirit sparkles downtown with Christmas magic in the air. Each storefront window has family, friends and even animals depicting various scenes. Enjoy chestnuts roasting. Ol’ Fashion Christmas

Parade features floats, marching bands, and Santa. Dusk falls and tens of thousands of lights light up the decorations at Veteran’s Park downtown Galva. Frankfort Fall Festival
The Frankfort Fall Festival is ranked in the top 15 shows to visit by Sunshine Artist. There are 300 artisan from 30 states selling hand-crafted items at our show which includes local civic organizations selling food items, a carnival, entertainment and a community parade.
Grayslake Summer Days
Family music festival with activities for the entire family. Music, carnival games, food vendors, business booth area and "Grayslake's Got Talent" Contest. Bike and pet parade - 12 noon Saturday. The Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival
The Great Highwood Pumpkin Fest will boast fan favorites including all you can carve pumpkins, Trick or Treating, costume contests, Pumpkin Parade, hay rides, pony rides, petting zoo, carnival rides, kids crafts, two stages jam packed with solid entertainment, food and beverage vendors galore and a Superhero 5K Pumpkin Run/Walk. As always, all lit jack-o-lanterns will be placed on pumpkin walls throughout the Festival grounds, with ceremonial wall lightings Friday and Saturday nights, and the grand lighting on Sunday evening.

Downtown Car Show/Cruise Night
Downtown Car Show / Mt. Vernon Cruise Night - The Car Show will be located on 9th Street between Harrison and Jordan. Features cruise night, car, truck, and motorcycle show; entertainment, food, demonstrations, and a 50/50 drawing. The Car Show will have various models from "Classics" to "Modern."
4th of July Celebration events includes: Freedom Run a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run; a gospel show; a parade; free concert at the City Park and much more. Capping off the Freedom Fest is one of the largest fireworks display in Southern Illinois.
Antique Engine & Tractor Association Working Farm Show
Visit the 50-acre showground and experience the fall harvest early 1900’s style. Event features the historical value of collection and exhibition of gasoline and steam tractors, power driven farm machinery and other equipment through field demonstrations, displays of gas engines, garden tractors, farm tractors and equipment. Tractor pulls, craft demonstrations, speakers, children activities and music are featured daily. Food is available and parking is free. Take the kids on a train ride throughout the showground. .
Jersey County Fair
Food, merchandise, vendors and more. A week-long annual county fair offering rare glimpses of livestock, agriculture competitions mixed with nightly entertainment. Don't miss the ITPA tractor and truck pulls, "Almost Kiss" concert, demolition derby, Queen competitions and so much more. General admission is $2 per person, children under 13 free. Separate pricing for grandstand events.
Kewanee Hog Days
Enjoy the perfect ending to the summer and visit the World’s largest outdoor pork barbeque held on the streets of Kewanee. Events include a parade, carnival, concessions, craft show, three-day flea market, live entertainment stages. Open 7 am to 10 pm. Bringing home the chops since 1941.
32nd Annual Cruise Nite and Classic Car Show
Being one of the largest cruise nights in Illinois, this event attracts individuals across the state. The Cruise Nite & Car Show brings in classic and antique autos for a full day and night of fun for the whole family. Attend the car show on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then watch and cruise that evening from 5 to 9 p.m.
Cowden Pioneer Days
This family friendly festival is set in the city park with plenty of carnival rides, craft vendors, flea market, foods, etc. There is also an IPRA sanctioned rodeo that takes place Friday. A demolition derby takes place on Saturday. You can also enjoy the arm wrestling. There will also be a large parade Saturday morning. Tour the historical cabins set in the park.
The Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival features 40 hot air balloons, races, glows, tethered balloon rides, main stage entertainment, craft fair, free children's activity area and games, cardboard boat races, car show, fireworks and much more.
Murphysboro Apple Festival
The Murphysboro Apple Festival is the oldest and largest, alcohol-free festival in Southern Illinois. Over 45,000 people attend the festival each year. During the five days of the Apple Festival, there are numerous activities drawing large crowds such as evening stage shows, carnival/concessions, Queen Contest, Prince and Princess Contest, contests from apple pie eating to apple core throwing, firefighters' water fights, marching band competition, car shows, Appletime 5K Walk/Run and much more. In addition, the festival's Grand Parade is one of the largest parade in Southern Illinois. The parade features an average of about 160 total units, 25 of those marching bands, and a variety of groups and organizations.
Scarecrow Daze Festival
During the Annual Scarecrow Daze Festival, the entire city of Shelbyville is decorated with scarecrows. With a different theme every year, entrants decorate their homes and businesses to the theme. There is also a large parade on Saturday, kids' games, a beer tent, music, a quilt show, and plenty of food and crafts, in downtown Shelbyville.
Windsor Harvest Picnic
Come and enjoy this family-friendly festival in its 120th year. Entertainment comes to you in gospel, country and rock. Fountain City Amusements provides a carnival atmosphere with plenty of food as well as the Ice Cream Social. There is also a 5K run/walk, a pedal tractor pull, parade, and a raffle drawing. Entertainment this year is Gospel Group Firebox, Phil Dirt presents Surfs Up, a tribute to the Beach Boys, and Country Artists Chris Cavanough and Shenandoah.
