It is located near the intersection of U.S. Route 52 and Mormon Road about 3 miles south of Amboy. Open to the public 7 days a week for walking and bird-watching. No dogs are allowed due to sensitive plant and wildlife.

Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home and Visitors Center
Tour the restored home that the Reagan family resided in from 1920-1923, and meander through the Visitor Center and Gift Shop which features books and gifts highlighting the Reagan legacy. The tour includes the four-room Presidential Timeline exhibit and the viewing of a Reagan biographical video.
Begins the Trail Reagan Statue
A bronze statue of Ronald Reagan, astride the likeness of a palomino horse he rode nearly 60 years ago, sits at the head of the Heritage Crossing Riverfront Plaza located on River Street in downtown Dixon. The statue, created by local artist Don Reed, serves as the centerpiece of Heritage Crossing, an open-air plaza that looks out onto the Rock River.

The Northwest Territory Historic Center is a History Research and Learning Center housed in President Ronald Reagan's boyhood South Central School; located in his hometown of Dixon, Illinois. Beautifully restored with the dedicated support of the townspeople and Reagan colleagues, the Center is proudly affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution and houses the Veterans History Project Regional Center, auditorium, research library, historical exhibits, art gallery, surround-sound theater and museum store. From 10am to 4pm, wander through the Garden Faire on the north bank of the Rock River at Lincoln Statue Drive and listen to speakers on various garden and nature topics at the garden faire. Tour the Old Settler's log cabin preserved by the Lee County Historical Society. Shop art and artisan crafts for home; garden and personal items and tap your toes to bluegrass and folk music on a summer afternoon. Starting at 6 p.m. you can enjoy fine dining under a tent on the beautiful riverfront during our Tuscan Garden Party themed dinner event. Our caterers, Life's a Feast, will provide a luscious multi-course Italian dinner. An auction of wreaths and planted containers created by our garden club members will be held after the dinner. The Garden Faire is free but tickets are required for the dinner and space is limited so go to the website to order tickets.

The park has approximately 100 water, electric and sewer hookups. Each electric hookup has 20amp, 30amp and 50amp service. These hookups can be used with RV's, vendor vehicles, booths, tent or camp setups, and other purposes. Ample space is available for open or primitive camping. Nachusa Grasslands, The Nature Conservancy
Private natural area owned by the Nature Conservancy. Highlights are 1500 acres of prairie, wetlands, and savanna woodlands. Grassland flowers, birds and butterflies to observe.
Franklin Creek State Natural Area
Developed by local volunteers, it offers scenic trails, horseback riding, fishing, and limited hunting. The site contains the historic Franklin Creek Grist Mill and a 180-acre dedicated nature preserve.

Rock River Cruise
For those with an urge to explore a genuine Illinois prairie, this ride takes you past one of the largest pieces of preserved prairie in the state. The Rock River Cruise is 34.7-miles of moderate difficulty, with a few small climbs along the way. Stop off and visit some of the many attractions along the way, including the John Deere Historic Site and the charming town of Oregon.
Scheffler Art and Gallery
Long noted throughout northern Illinois for pencil drawings in black and white and color work in acrylic art, the gallery feature displays of Scheffler's art, and also provide a working center to fulfill commissions for patron's special requests. The Rooney Building was recently chosen as a location for a commemorative mural by the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition. The Rooney Building is a companion to the renowned H.I. Lincoln Building as a Farming Heritage, Inc. historic preservation project.

This event is an open stage format where musicians have 15 minutes to perform Bluegrass, Country, Folk, and Light Rock Music. The Edward F. Vassallo Land and Water Reserve
The Edward F.Vassallo Land and Water Reserve is a privately owned reserve located adjacent to White Pines State Forest. It was designated in 2014 as a state Land & Water Reserve by the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission and includes 130 acres of native wildflowers, plants, grasses, creek bottom, habitat for native wildlife, birds and insects and forest areas. Spring Creek, a tributary of Pine Creek, flows through the reserve. Today and forever, this land will remain in its natural condition as part of the Illinois Nature Preserve System and is a gift to present and future generations as a place where native plants and animals can thrive under wise stewardship and protection from harm. No motorized vehicles allowed. Nature lovers are welcome and walking paths can be accessed by calling contact number.
