2017 NCAA National Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms
The 2017 NCAA National Golf Championships will be held at Rich Harvest Farms and hosted for the first time by Northern Illinois University, with play taking place from May 19-24 (women) and May 26-31 (men). Sugar Grove will be only the third Illinois city to host the Division I Golf Championships. Cook County’s Olympia Fields Country Club hosted the men’s championship in 1943, while Conway Farms Golf Club outside of Chicago played host to the men’s as well in 1997.

Yorkville's 4th of July Celebration
The Yorkville Independence Day Parade steps off on Game Farm Road and proceeds to Somonauk Street, King Street, West Main Street, Church Street and ends at the water tower. Town Square activities begin immediately after the parade and will include children's foot races, rides, water fights, food vendors and a performance by the Yorkville Community Band. Fireworks begin at dusk near the corner of Rt. 47 and Countryside Pkwy. The Yorkville Big Band is scheduled to perform at 8 pm at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home. All 4th of July activities are free and open to the public. Food and drink are available for purchase.
Liberty 5k Run/Walk
Start your Independence Day festivities early this year with some good fun and exercise! On July 3rd, the Morris Downtown Development Partnership (MDDP) will be bringing the 7th annual Liberty 5K Run/Walk back to downtown Morris! The Liberty Run 5K Run/Walk will take place at 7:15 p.m. in downtown Morris. Beginning at Liberty and Jefferson streets, the course will take you through Nostalgic Downtown Morris, area parks, neighborhoods and returns downtown on Liberty Street. The course is completely paved, primarily flat, with some slight hills for a fast and enjoyable race. The Liberty 5K is a chip timed race on a certified course. The event honors, supports and recognizes our military personnel. The race is free to attend. To participate, sign up by June 26 for only $25. (Later entries are $30). Your kids can have fun as well in our kids runs! Only $5 per child (registration on Race Day only).

Sandwich Independence Day Weekend Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day weekend at the historic Sandwich Fairgrounds. Festivities begin at 10 am Saturday, July 2 with the Sandwich Park District’s Independence Day Parade, BBQ follows at the Fire Station and water fight competitions are scheduled for the afternoon. The fun continues with the Freedom Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run on Sunday morning, July 3 beginning at 8 am. Participants may register early or the day of the race. Lineup will take place at Knights Park. The weekend will end with a fabulous fireworks display at the Sandwich Fairgrounds on Sunday with gates opening at 6 pm. Land of the Free, Home of the Brave: Aurora's Independence Day Celebration
The City of Aurora's Fourth of July Parade is a popular, not-to-miss parade for the whole family. This year's theme is "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave." Join the thousands of spectators lining the downtown parade route and display your patriotism and civic pride while watching the fabric of the community pass in front of you. The event will begin with a pre-parade ceremony at 9:15 a.m. outside the Paramount Theatre After the parade, enjoy free family activities and fireworks in two locations. Fireworks Celebration: the City of Lights will live up to its name with a pyrotechnic extravaganza illuminating the night sky with a rainbow of colors! Free park and ride shuttle service available 6-9 pm.
Big Rock Plowing Match
Festivities include plowing competition, English and Western horse show, arts and crafts show, children's games, ladies and junior fair auction. Food available from local area vendors and much more. Parking is free.

Hollywood Vampires at RiverEdge Park
Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp pay tribute to the original Hollywood Vampires. They are an American Rock supergroup formed to honor the musicians who died due to excess in the 1970s. All events at RiverEdge Park are General Admission. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs. Gates open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 8:00 pm.
11th Annual "Let's Dance" Big Band Weekend
The event provides a venue and 'live' dance bands ( 10 - 17 pieces) for fans and social ballroom dancers to enjoy. Catered food - healthy, delicious, recommended by dancers. Floor - 13,000 sq. ft. smooth hardwood, well maintained. Advance package deals are available. 'At door' registration will be accepted 30 minutes prior to each scheduled dance.
2016 Harvest of Quilts and Textile Art Show
The DeKalb County Quilter's Guild invites you to our biennial quilt show, October 1-2, 2016. Enjoy this year's expanding our offerings to other textile and fiber arts, such as weaving, spinning, knitting, crocheting, wearable art and more. The featured artist will be Lorraine Torrence, who makes wearable art and quilts, and will be presenting three lectures, "Design Principles for Quilters," "Finding Your Voice," and "Creative Clothing for Everybody." In addition to 300+ quilts on display, there will be exhibits in other disciplines and special exhibits including the Hoffman Challenge and a trunk show by SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates.) There will be demonstrations, workshops, lectures, and a vendors mall with new and longtime favorites. Food will also be available to purchase.
Happy Together Tour 2016 at the Paramount Theatre

In one rockin’ night, the Happy Together Tour 2016 is bringing your radio to life with Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, Chicago’s own The Cowsills, Mark Lindsay from Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Spencer Davis Group starring (you guessed it) Spencer Davis himself and, of course, Flo & Eddie from The Turtles, all live on the Paramount stage. Yorkville Hometown Days Festival
The 2016 Hometown Days Festival is a family oriented event that provides entertainment the entire family can enjoy! We are excited to bring back again this year the past favorites such as the Pride and Joy Car Show, the Baby Contest, carnival, and live musical performances. We are also excited to announce the return of a 2015 crowd favorite – The Ultimate Air Dogs Show! Headliner entertainment all three days. STORYTelling: Hmong American Voices Exhibit
This collaborative exhibit explores what it means to be Hmong American. How has Hmong life changed since refugees first entered the U.S. in the 1970s? What does it mean to be Hmong American today? Through objects, audio recordings and personal stories of Hmong Americans, this exhibit immerses visitors in the material culture and social issues of Hmong American communities. The exhibition is now open and will run through December 2016. A special opening reception featuring refreshments and live music will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the museum, located in Cole Hall on the NIU campus. The event is free and open to the public. The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free and all are welcome.
DeKalb Farmers Market
The DeKalb Farmers Market features locally-grown produce, wine, baked goods, flowers and artisan crafts. Live music is presented each week by the Egyptian Theatre. It's a great way to enjoy an afternoon. Open Thursday's from 10-2 June through September.

Beach Boys & The Temptations: Surf & Soul Tour
There’s no better way to celebrate the summer than experiencing the band that literally created the beach rock sound live. And there’s no better place to do it than right on the banks of the Fox River. Calling The Beach Boys “legends” is an understatement. Their multi-layer harmonies, unmistakable 1960s surf rock sound and laid-back style launched them into worldwide fame, while simultaneously shaping the future of pop music forever. We like our surf with a side of soul, so joining The Beach Boys are the smooth, the soulful, and the funky Temptations. Country Lights Soy Candles
Country Lights Soy Candles started making candles as a hobby in 1999. At first, the candles were a soy/petroleum mix. After some experimenting, we were happy to go to a 100% soy candle. It did not take long for us to realize that soy candles were becoming very popular. Our "factory" is located on our family's Centennial Farm in north central Illinois. All of the candles are hand poured by family members.

Fermilab's Lederman Science Center
The Leon M. Lederman Science Education Center houses hands-on exhibits for ages 10+, technology and science labs, a store and the K-12 Teacher Resource Center. Science Adventures classes for all ages take place at the Lederman Science Center. The Center also has a unique collection of indoor and outdoor exhibits introducing students to the world of particle physics. Open to the public Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–4:30 PM and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. The Center can accommodate groups of five or fewer on a walk-in basis. Larger groups must book a visit. Ride Like An Egyptian
Join us for a fun and enjoyable bike ride through DeKalb and Kane Counties and support the historic Egyptian Theatre on Satruday, August 20th. Since the ride starts and ends at the Egyptian Theatre, you will have the opportunity to explore this historic landmark. This bike ride offers four mix-n-match 25-mile loops. All participants will be provided with route maps and all routes will be marked with signs. There will be great SAG support on all loops and a well-stocked central rest stop. Bike at your own speed, this is not a race. All ages are welcome, however, those under the age of 16 must ride with a participating parent or guardian. There will be an end-of-ride meal provided for registered riders. Meal will feature soup, sandwiches, and refreshments.
