Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., is a $130 million, 1.5-mile, D-shaped, tri-oval speedway that annually hosts the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR XFINITY Series, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. Chicagoland Speedway sits on 930 acres of land, which is large enough to accommodate 42 United Centers (home of the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks). Chicagoland Speedway provides 500 acres of free parking for more than 30,000 vehicles. Leland Tower is a twenty-two story tall building located on Stolp Island in Aurora, Illinois. Leland Tower was at one point the tallest building in Illinois outside of Chicago. Stolp Island is recognized as a Historical District by the National Register of Historical Places. Leland Tower was at one time the tallest building in the world, and dominates the downtown of Aurora, dwarfing all the other buildings located there. The tower was built initially as a hotel. The Leland Hotel project was conceived in 1926 and was one of the most ambitious projects in the city's history. The project was announced by an organization known as the Aurora Building Corporation through Herbert P. Heiss of the First Illinois Company. Mr. Heiss had located and purchased the site for the proposed hotel. The building contract was awarded to the H.G. Chtistman Company, general contractors of South Bend, Indiana and Detroit, Michigan. Anker Sveere Graven and Arthur Guy Mayger were chosen to design the hotel which was planned to be one of the grandest buildings outside of Chicago.

The Aurora Elks Lodge No. 705 is a Mayan style building on Stolp Island in Aurora, Illinois. It is included in the Stolp Island Historic District. The building was built in 1926 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. (Re-development planning in process.)

Clayton's Tap has been family owned and operated for over 40 years. In 1973, W. Clayton Darlington purchased Farmers Paradise from Hank Briscoe. The tavern was truly a "Farmers Paradise". Shortly after Hank Briscoe passed away, it was renamed Clayton's Tap. In 2004, ownership transferred within the family, and the tavern was closed for a short time and completely remodeled. A back room with adjacent beer garden was built to host live entertainment and private parties, and the original Brunswick bar which won the World's Fair in 1933 was refurbished and is still in use today. So pull up a barstool and enjoy our live entertainment, food, spirits, watching sporting events on our televisions, playing darts, pool or video gaming... you are only a stranger at Clayton's Tap once.
From 1908 to 1940, Sears Roebuck and Company ordered, manufactured and sold homes to hundreds of thousands of Americans. Sears homes were popular in the railroad community of Aurora, which boasts 136 authenticated properties, making Aurora one of the largest concentrations of Sears homes in the country. They can Trick-or-Treat in the historic Lyon Farm Village, participate in a costume parade around the square, earn prizes awarded for best costume, play old-fashioned games, take hay rides, and get spooked in the Haunted house! At the 39 acre Lyon Farm, you can enjoy historic buildings such as the Oswego-Fox House, Union School one-room schoolhouse, the Seward Town Hall, Corrigan’s General Store, the 1850 Plano CB&Q railroad depot, a CB&Q caboose, a blacksmith shop and several large buildings containing displays of household, farming and commercial artifacts and archival records.
