Children will experience a diverse range of artistic and educational presentations, with hosts regularly inviting youngsters to move, dance and interact with performers. Presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, the Juicebox series runs on alternating Fridays at the Chicago Cultural Center and Saturdays at the Garfield Park Conservatory, with occasional special events at other venues. Wallace is widely known for his 1996 novel Infinite Jest, which was cited by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005. Infinite Jest was completed while Wallace was living in Bloomington and employed in the Illinois State University English Department. His work tends to be narrative in nature, with emphasis on relating the details and personalities of our past.

Steam Shovel Coffee is a local business that was launched in 2011 and opened doors in 2012 out of Anna, Illinois. "Fresh roasted coffee beans to you." Randy Miller, owner and creator of the local business, was a painter by trade before getting into coffee. He was intrigued by coffee beans and how different regions and types of beans affect the outcome of the coffee. Steam Shovel Coffee uses fair trade Arabica coffee beans that are roasted in a hot air roaster with temperatures reaching 465 degrees. Miller's goal is to become a regional roaster in Southern Illinois. He wants Steam Shovel Coffee to be a good, smooth cup of coffee.

During the early 1900's, George Filbert, his wife and their young son, Charlie, could be seen on a horse-drawn wagon in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood delivering bottles of milk to stores and homes. It wasn't until the height of prohibition that Filbert's began making Root Beer. Now 85 years later, Ron Filbert, the fourth generation Filbert, continues to make his families famous Root Beer in the same Bridgeport neighborhood where his Great-Grandfather started it all back in 1926.
