Chicago native Sarah Levy developed a passion for food at an early age. The daughter of Mark Levy, co-founder of Levy Restaurants, Sarah grew up surrounded by fine food and quickly developed a passion for all things sweet. Inspired by the joy that fine food can bring to peoples' lives, Sarah founded Sarah's Pastries & Candies. Sarah started her company making chocolate candies out of her mom's kitchen. After a year she had built up a wholesale business that includes 17 Whole Foods Markets in the Midwest. Sarah launched her first retail store at 11 E. Oak St. in September 2005. She has expanded her line to include morning pastries, cakes, tarts, espresso drinks and other delectable pastries.

Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival
The Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival is the official host for the official competition leading to the Blues Foundation's world famous International Blues Challenge. Sponsored by the River City Blues Society, this is an opportunity for unsigned Illinois bands to compete for entry into the IBC with expenses paid by the River City Blues Society with help from a funding grant from the Illinois Blues Coalition. You'll be able to see all these bands and more compete at the 2014 Budwesier Illinois Blues Festival.

Pioneer Gothic Church
Built in 1857, this church is a fine example of Carpenter Gothic Architecture. Pointed arched windows and doors as well as board and batten frame construction characterize this style. King Edward VII worshipped at the church in 1860, while on a hunting expedition in the area. The church was named as one of the “150 Architectural Treasures” in the State of Illinois by the Association of Illinois Architects in 2007, and is listed on the National Historic Register.

Historic Marbold Farmstead
The Historic Marbold Farmstead is a treasured jewel in Menard County, Illinois. This was the central hub of the Marbold family farmland holdings, which consisted of over 4,000 acres. It was virtually self-sufficient, with several barns, dairy, chicken house, smoke house, ice house, boiler house and pump house. The original house, called Elmwood, was build in 1850 by John Marbold, a German immigrant and prominent Greenview farmer and businessman. Restoration efforts are underway. Lincoln-Douglas Debate Square
Experience the history of the second of the famous debates between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen A. Douglas. It was at this site on August 27, 1858 that the Freeport Doctrine, an import statement regarding slavery and state's rights, was proclaimed by Douglas. The site is self-interpretative through a series of waysides that tell of the events and ideas which led up to the debates, and also includes the life-size statues "Lincoln and Douglas in Debate" by artist Lily Tolpo. The park-like setting is complete with benches, lighting and spacious walks.
