Mindy Friedler and Mark Bires, the husband-and-wife team who also operate downtown po' boy shop Mac and Min's, are behind this sandwich-focused restaurant and lounge in Wicker Park. A play based on the book written by Barbara Robinson in 1971. It tells the story of Imogene, Claude, Ralph, Leroy, Ollie, and Gladys, six delinquent children surnamed Herdman. They go to church for the first time after being told that the church offers snacks. Despite protests from other church members, they are given roles in the Sunday school's Christmas play, in which they tell the Christmas story in a non-conventional fashion.

The Barnett Bungalow, is a quaint, early 1900's home just over two blocks from the temple! With central heat and air conditioning it features a living room with queen-size sofa sleeper, love seat, TV with VCR and DVD, book shelf with early LDS and Nauvoo history, including LDS videos, and Nauvoo framed art. The completely remodeled kitchen has all new cabinets, counter-top and appliances, including full size refrigerator, range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, toaster, and all the utensils and dishware for twelve. There is comfortable wall-to-wall carpeting in the living room and two bedrooms on the main floor, each with queen size beds. The dining room has a hardwood floor, with oak dining table and chairs for six, in addition to the drop-leaf kitchen table which seats four. The large main floor bathroom has a shower/tub combination, and vanity, in addition to the laundry behind bi-fold doors. Up the carpeted stairs to the children’s quarters, an attic great room with cable TV, full-size futon and four twin beds, plus a new bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Two cots and sleeping bags available for kids, plus a port-a-crib, if needed. Sleeps 12-14 people depending on age. All linens and towels are provided, plus a washer and dryer are available for guests use. Close to everything in town...walk to groceries, restaurants, shopping and the temple.

World's Largest Knitting Needles and Crochet Hook
The World's Largest Knitting Needles and Crochet Hook are located inside The Yarn Studio in downtown Casey, Illinois. In order to make it in to the Guinness Book of World Records shop owner, Jeanette Huisinga, had to knit and crochet a 10X10 square with the largest tools. Knitting Needles are 13ft .75in and 25 pounds each. Crochet Hook measures at 6ft. 1.5in and weight is 9lbs.

Bittersweet Confections is a chocolate truffle company that also supplies upscale catering to the Quincy, Illinois region. Chef Michael Mitchell got the idea for his chocolates when a cigar and a bar of chocolate shared the same space in a sock drawer. Strangely, the half smoked cigar infused the chocolate with its aroma and gave it an amazing flavor. Michael had made his truffles for various restaurants and employers before deciding to create his own line of confections. His desire for comfort foods comes in contact with his love for the culinary arts. The Charles Hales Home is a historic Mormon pioneer home with modern amenities in the Hyrum Kimball Village, perfect for your family vacation to Nauvoo. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a king bed, and a large king bedroom across the hall. Also on the first floor is a full kitchen, dining room, great room/family room and a full bathroom. This floor has a vaulted ceiling above the great room and dining room area with a grand staircase to the second floor loft (with queen size sofa sleeper). The back of the home is open and airy with two story windows that bathe the home with light. The second floor has two king bedrooms and one queen bedroom. In the hall are two full bathrooms with sinks in a vanity. The basement has a full laundry room with washer and dryer.

This old European-style home is the first “story book” home built in this new development. The complete home is three stories, but there is a lock off available on the first floor (Troubadour's Quarters), allowing that unit to be rented separately, or with the main home on the second and third floors (Crown Court Suite). The Troubadour's Quarters contains a great room with full kitchen, dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave and table for six. The great room has a queen-size sofa sleeper, gas burning fireplace, and flat screen TV. A bedroom has three built-in bunk beds, and there is a full bath with tub/shower combination! This level sleeps up to 8 and can be rented separately, or with the rest of the home. Since the home is built on a hillside overlooking the Mississippi River, the massive front door is located on the second level, opening up into a large living room with fireplace and flat screen TV, and beautiful view of the river. This living room contains two queen size sofa sleepers. The full kitchen has Amish built cabinets, granite counter-tops seating four at the bar and with a table for six in the round turret. The full bath on this floor has a corner shower. The third level is the master suite which is perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary occasion! The view of the Mississippi from this room is spectacular! It also has a desk, gas log fireplace, flat screen TV, King size bed, queen size sofa sleeper, and another bedroom with queen size bed. Reiman's Harley Davidson
If motorcycles are your thing, check out Reiman’s Harley Davidson. Roger Reiman, the original proprietor, is a 1998 inductee into the American Motorcycle Association’s Hall of Fame and a three-time winner of the Daytona 200. A top competitor in the AMA’s Grand National Circuit during the 1960s, Reiman cut back on his racing schedule to manage the family Harley Davidson dealership in Kewanee during the 1970s. It was during this time that he became famous as motorcycle stuntman Evel Knievel’s head mechanic. Since Reiman’s death in a racing accident in 1997, the Packee family has owned and operated the dealership. One of the top Harley Davidson dealerships in the Midwest, Reiman’s can meet every motorcycle enthusiast’s needs and desires. James Myler Manor
Ground floor accommodations include a master bedroom/bath suite featuring a king size bed and a double queen room across the hall. A basic equipped kitchen, dining room, bath and a two story great room with a large screen TV complete the first floor. The back of the home is open and airy with two story windows that give you a beautiful view of the common area. Upstairs, there is a loft with seating and a secretary's desk, two more baths and three bedrooms, including a duplicate of the master suite on the first floor, a single queen bedroom and a large queen bedroom with four singles in two bunk beds. Each bedroom has a large closet and is furnished with a large dresser. In the basement there are laundry facilities, another bathroom and four twin beds. Constructed in 2006, the floor plan is 2,690 square feet and sleeps sixteen to twenty guests. The home has five bedrooms and six full bathrooms between the three levels. The two story great room with living area, dining area and large windows provide an excellent view of the Hyrum Kimball Village Pavilion and recreation area. The home is fully furnished and tastefully decorated.

The Hopper House in Nauvoo is just four blocks from the Nauvoo Temple! This cute cottage is the perfect “Grandma’s House” and has central heat and air conditioning. The living room has a queen size sofa sleeper, recliner and entertainment center with cable TV/DVD & VCR, and LDS videos and books. The two bedrooms each have queen size beds, there is a full size sofa sleeper in the dining room, and there are two cots and sleeping bags available for kids, if needed, sleeping 8-10 people, depending on age. The bathrooms have been recently remodeled with a vanity and shower/tub combination upstairs and a vanity and shower downstairs. Includes a large dining room with a table for six, and in 2006 a full kitchen remodel with gas range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and all utensils and dishware for twelve. LDS art and historical Nauvoo pictures throughout the house. All the linens and towels are provided, plus on the back porch is a washer and dryer for the convenience of guests. Great location, with a front porch and nice yard, close to groceries, shopping, restaurants and the temple!
