A Petterson Springs B&B

Natural clay materials are molded and crafted right before your eyes into creative, functional stoneware pottery. Actual fish that have been caught on a hook and line are used to create a mold and clay is used to reproduce a likeness of the fish. 18th Annual Prairie Day
The Annual Prairie Day is a celebration of the prairie environment held in conjunction with National Prairie Week at Goose Lake Prairie State Natural Area. Presentations on the environment and nature play a very important part of the day's activities as well as highlighting on the special features of the park itself. Various presentations, educational talks, and projects for children are the special offerings of the day. The structure is made of granite rocks gathered from Townsend’s farmland, right here in Sycamore.

Swimming in Lake Lou Yeager is the best OWS you will have in the Midwest. There really is no comparison to this large beach with pristine flat racing water. The bike course is flat and fast with some great curves to keep you entertained the whole ride. Both the 5k and 10k runs see very honest mile paces with plenty of flats, and a couple hills throughout.

Museum of the Gilding Arts
The Museum of the Gilding Arts' focus is the history, craft, and use of gold and silver leafing in architecture and in decoration throughout history. The exhibit features items from the Society of Gilders' Swift Collection. The M. Swift & Sons company manufactured gold leaf in Hartford, CT, and began its operations in 1887. Free Admission - Donation Only

3rd Annual Crusin’ To The Dairy Car Show
On September 5 at the Union Dairy in Freeport from 3 pm to 8 pm, cruise in to this great old fashioned ice cream parlor with great cars, 50's and 60's music, and more. Music by 3-D Sound. Hourly drawings for food prizes. Souvenir t-shirts. No entry fee.
