Fermilab's Lederman Science Center
The Leon M. Lederman Science Education Center houses hands-on exhibits for ages 10+, technology and science labs, a store and the K-12 Teacher Resource Center. Science Adventures classes for all ages take place at the Lederman Science Center. The Center also has a unique collection of indoor and outdoor exhibits introducing students to the world of particle physics. The Edward F. Vassallo Land and Water Reserve
The Edward F.Vassallo Land and Water Reserve is a privately owned reserve located adjacent to White Pines State Forest. African American Veterans from World War Two and Beyond
Veterans Memorial Hall presents a living history event honoring “African American Veterans from World War Two and Beyond.” Doors open at 12:00pm with a formal opening ceremony scheduled for 1:00pm. The events conclude each day at 4:00pm, followed by an autograph signing session in the library. In years past Veterans Memorial Hall has offered an event to recognize Black History Month. This year is no exception as we present programs that bridge the generations with World War II Veterans from the Tuskegee Airmen, DODO Chapter and the Chicago Chapter of the Montford Point Marines joined with African American Veterans from the Korean and Vietnam Wars and beyond. Attendees will hear stories of brave service and patriotism unlike any other and experience a unique understanding of what it was like to be an African American serving in the United States Military. This program allows those in attendance to hear firsthand these veterans' accounts of their service and to be inspired by their stories of valor and patriotism. Saturday, February 20, members of the Tuskegee Airmen, DODO Chapter will spend the beginning of the program interacting with our moderator, answering a series of general questions. During the second half of the program they will answer questions from the audience. This colorful exchange between the audience and the Veterans is a crowd favorite and not to be missed. Sunday, February 21, we will bring to the stage five original Montford Point Marines. These Marines will share their stories of service in the Marine Corps during a time of racial inequality and segregation. Meet these historic veterans up close and experience firsthand their stories of bravery and sacrifice. Attendees will learn how these veterans were able to overcome many obstacles and why they truly deserve to be called the "Greatest Generation."

Get a good look at the sun through special solar telescopes during the first-ever International SUNday Festival at the Confluence Tower. Members of several local astronomical organizations will be on hand to celebrate the Summer Solstice (which falls on Father's Day this year) from Noon to 5 p.m. The first 100 families to visit will receive a pair of free Solar Glasses. There will be food vendors, including "Good Looking Kettle Corn", Eppel's Pantry and Princivalli's Cafe on hand. Representatives will also share information about the sun, our nearest star in the Solar System. Amateur astronomers will provide their own optical equipment to safely view the sun including hydrogen, alpha, calcium and white light views. This event is free, although there is a charge to tour the Tower.

The American Boy Choir
For over 75 years, The American Boychoir has long been recognized as one of the finest musical ensembles in the country. Capitalizing on its trademark blend of musical sophistication, spirited presentation and ensemble virtuosity, the Boychoir performs regularly with world-class ensembles. The Legacy Walk is a dynamic outdoor LGBT history exhibit in the "Lakeview" neighborhood of Chicago. Presently, along the half mile of the North Halsted Street Corridor, between Belmont Avenue and Grace Street, ten (10) pairs of 25'-tall decorative "Rainbow Pylons" define the nexus of Chicago's LGBT community.
