Willow's Hometown Cafe
Willow’s Hometown Café is located in the Frederick Townsend Garage and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Sycamore Historic District. The distinctive stone structure was constructed in 1906 for use as a garage for the estate of Frederick B. Townsend, his former home is the Queen Anne mansion that overlooks the garage property. The structure is made of granite rocks gathered from Townsend’s farmland, right here in Sycamore.

Celebrate Women's History Month - Fundraiser for the Sandwich Opera House Pamela Welcome holds a B.A. degree in Acting and Directing from Northern Illinois University. She has performed in many diverse theatrical productions with roles ranging from 'Mama', in "A Raisin' In The Sun"; 'Sister Margaret', in "The Amen Corner"; 'Jo Jo LaMotte', in "Agatha Christie Made Me Do It"; and 'Mrs. Mercy Croft', in "The Killing of Sister George", to name a few. Mrs. Welcome has also done numerous training films and some voice over and commercial work. She currently performs Black Women In History - featuring Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth and a WWII Riveter/Welder. These programs are performed periodically for libraries, women's groups, churches and historical organizations. Pamela is married with two children, Joseph and Briana. General Admission - $10

The 9th Annual Red Carpet Corridor including activities at the Joliet Area Historical Museum. It is all about family fun on the most famous road in America - Route 66. This year’s event will be Saturday, May 2, from 8 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, May 3, from 8 AM to 3 PM. Sponsored by the twelve communities which make up the 90-mile linear museum from Joliet to Towanda, the annual festival invites everyone to experience the good life in the slow lane.
