Are you ready for an entertaining cruise experience along Chicago's scenic lakefront? Our 30-Minute Lakefront Speedboat Tour is the best way to view Chicago from the lake, combining an exciting speedboat ride along the shoreline with informative and amusing descriptions of the world famous Chicago skyline! As you depart Chicago's Navy Pier, we'll tell you interesting facts about the Pier and Chicago's lakefront. Then we'll crank up the music and race south past Navy Pier to Chicago's Museum Campus where we'll pause to hear about Chicago's interesting lakefront landmarks, architecture and history. We will then speed north past Navy Pier to cruise the Magnificent Mile, giving you unique views of the Sears Tower, Buckingham Fountain and Grant Park along the way. After a few quick facts, we'll dash back to our dog house on Navy Pier.
Chicago Haunted Tours - Seadog
Experience the sights, lights, and frights of Chicago this Halloween! Discover Chicago’s architecture at nighttime while exploring the many spirits, scandals, and sins of the Windy City. Our journey will take you through Chicago's darker history with spine tingling tales of supernatural occurrences, moonlit mysteries, and infamous figures along the beautiful Chicago River. Tours depart at 6:15pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October, beginning Friday, October 9. Additional tours depart at 8:15pm on Saturday, October 10, 17, and 24th.

Chicago Botanic Garden- Weekend Family Classes

Boo! at the Zoo

The popular daytime event, presented by Fisher-Price, features a Costume Parade, Costume Showcase, professional pumpkin-carving demonstrations, not-so-scary games and activities, special animal Zoo Chats, and haunted hayrides.

Bluegill Music Festival
March 16, 2015 - Bluegill Music Festival will lunch its inaugural event on July 4, 2015 for a one-day festival packed with some of country music's hottest acts. The all-day festival will be complete with Southern Illinois' largest fireworks display, along the shores of the Rend Lake Dam, in Benton, IL. The lineup includes Eli Young Band, LoCash, Clayton Anderson and more exciting acts to be announced. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 20th and can be purchased at www.bluegillfest.com and at Black Diamond Harley Davidson. Drawing fans from around the country, including Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana, the festival is at the intersection of some of the nation's most dedicated country music fans. Bluegill Music Festival will feature nationally recognized BBQ vendors from around the country. Interactive entertainment for fans will also include activations, like: bags, washers, bubble soccer, Illinois longest slip n' slide, helicopter rides from Black Diamond Harley Davidson, a mechanical bull, a kids area with a large inflatable slide and the "Bluegill Lagoon", featuring a 60 x 100' VIP beach, with cabanas, private wading pools & lounge area. Additionally, Southern Illinois' largest fireworks display will begin at 9:30pm, and is free for all guest.

Balloons Over Mt. Vernon & Fly-In
The event will host over 15 hot air balloons including a 140 foot Shark balloon that goes by “Sharky” taking flight October 16, 17, and 18, 2015 at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport. There will be a balloon glow, tether balloon offering paid rides, war birds, VIP seating, sponsor booths, family activities, vendors, crafters, inflatables and much more family fun.
Bald Eagle Watching in the Cache River Wetlands
The Cache River Wetlands offers great opportunities for eagle watching, as well as spotting other birds. The Cache River Wetland Center provides resource and identification materials to help you spot eagles and other birds in the area and along the rivers. They will provide maps and directions to the viewing station for the nest just off Illinois Route 37 off Perks road and south of the visitor's center.
Bald Eagle Tours at Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge
Crab Orchard is home to six nesting pairs of resident bald eagles and their offspring. A few nesting sites are visible from public roads throughout the Refuge and eagles are spotted daily. Guided tours visit eagle nests and areas of the Refuge where eagles may be spotted. The cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for youth under the age of 12, and reservations are required.

Arthur Amish Country Christmas Kickoff
The Christmas lighted parade steps off at 5:30pm and will showcase Santa & Mrs. Claus through downtown Arthur. Immediately following the parade, Santa will visit with children and parents in Knights Court downtown to start collecting those early Christmas requests. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be served during his visit. Throughout the day, businesses in the downtown area as well as the countryside will feature early Christmas bargains and host Open Houses.

Registration for the 39th Annual Frank Lloyd Wright Races is now open and if you register before September 1, you save $10! The race date is Sunday, October 18, 2015! Bring your racing and running season to a close in historic Oak Park with the flat, fast, and scenic route of the 2015 Frank Lloyd Wright Races, featuring a 5K Run/Walk, the 10K Run, and the Youth Mile for ages 7-14. All events are on Sunday, October 18 and start just east of Oak Park River Forest High School (201 N. “The Third Testament,” the annual Holy Boulders Bouldering Competition
Nestled on a hillside in Pomona, IL, the Holy Boulders is a world-class climbing area offering classic lines of all grades on perfectly textured sandstone. The bouldering competition will help promote access to some of the finest sandstone bouldering in the country, the climbing area is known as “The Holy Boulders.” Last year the ICA’s Holy Boulders competition brought together over 200 competitors from 7 states and raised $15,000 to permanently secure climbing access at the Holy Boulders.
