Effingham Artisan Fair
Downtown is transformed into an art gallery with works from over 40 artists, on display for purchase. Artwork for sale includes oil paintings, pottery, jewelry, and sculptures. Several artists will demonstrate their craft at the event. As part of the event, the Artisan Fair features wine and beer tasting. There will be approximately ten regional wineries and several different craft beers available for tasting. This event will open from 12 – 5 p.m. Other activities include the 5K Run and Walk, Kids Korner, sidewalk chalk art, “Can Do Art,” food fair (including Gabby Goat, IGA, Sausage Haus, Doris Yoder's Kitchen, The Cookie Jar and Tropical Sno) and live musical entertainment at the gazebo. The Historic Court House Museum will be open for tours.

Moccasin Creek Festival is an annual 3-day music festival, which typically celebrates other arts and crafts as well. It takes place at beautiful Lake Sara in Summit Township, just west of Effingham, Illinois. The founder of Moccasin Creek Festival is Bill (Poss) Passalacqua, an Effingham native who has built his life around writing, performing and promoting music. 46th Annual Threshing Show and Antique Show
The Stephenson County Antique Engine Club proudly presents this annual event, "The Freeport Show". It offers over 300 antique steam and horse-powered engines, equipment, and gas engines. This year's feature is Allis-Chalmers. There will be a huge parade daily at 1 pm, a large flea market, a large display building offering home antiques, crafts, demonstrations, and farm miniatures, Gasoline Alley featuring The Rawleigh gas engines, sawmill, and blacksmith shop. There will be threshing demonstrations with both steam and gas tractors, and working demonstrations throughout the show grounds. Also, ride the Silver Creek and Stephenson Railroad antique steam train. Great food is offered. Don't miss the Farmer's Hitch Class, Horse Pull or the Midwest Championship Antique Tractor Pull.

The Pope County Deer Festival is a local tradition, held during the 1st shotgun deer season in Golconda, the 'Deer Capital' of Illinois. Held Thursday thru Saturday featuring vendors, food & music. A Deer Queen coronation on Friday night, a parade on Saturday at 2pm. On Sunday morning, a community breakfast and town sweep are held.

Annual Marbold Farmstead Antique Show
Located at Historic Marbold Farmstead just south of Greenview on 21722 State Hwy. 29 (20 miles north of Springfield). Featuring country primitives, furniture, textiles, pottery, Americana for sale. The Marbold Farmstead was the central hub of the Marbold family farmland holdings which consisted of over 4,000 acres and was virtually self-sufficient. The original house was built in 1850 and was one of the most notable homes in central Illinois. It is being restored and is home to an annual Antique Show featuring a wide range of vendors. Enjoy a beautiful natural setting and find the perfect items. Take in food, drinks, activities and demonstrations. Country Primitives, Furniture, Pottery, Textiles and Americana from dealers from Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Central Illinois. Period Craftsmen will demonstrate rag rug weaving, broom making, quilting, spinning, hat making, soap making. Proceeds to benefit restoration of the Marbold Farmstead.
43rd Annual Gurnee Days Celebration
Gurnee Days returns this week for 4 days of family fun. Activities include a bicycle rodeo, live entertainment, Farmers Market, Gurnee Idol, golf tournament, and amusement rides, a 10K race, baby contest, rib fest and eating contest, fireworks, a pancake breakfast, parade, Scoop the Loop Car Show, petting zoo, pony rides, a talent show, exhibitors, games, food booths and stage events. Plans are in motion for the first Legions of Craft Beer. This event will include at least 30 beer vendors, Gurnee restaurants, food trucks and a wide range of bands. Our own animals are always here for you to visit, but we do bring in more during the fall season. In the fall we have our family grown pumpkins, gourds, corn shocks, Indian corn and other specialty decorations.
