"The Popcorn Shop" was opened in 1934 by John Baldwin. In 1945, Mr. Baldwin leased his business to Del and Emily Barnett. Lou Ann Jacobs purchased the Decatur business in 1978 and has added her own flare and expertise to the business taking it way beyond what anyone could have imagined. Dinner with Elvis
Things are about to get "All Shook Up" at Pere Marquette Lodge, when Steve Davis performs his salute to the King of Rock and Roll. Come enjoy Pere Marquette Lodge's famous fried chicken buffet and then sit back and enjoy an hour-long tribute to the King. From the 1950's hits " Heartbreak Hotel," to his later smashes "Devil in Disguise" and "Suspicious Minds," the music of the legend lives on in this special tribute experience. Dinner begins at 6 pm and includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, vegetable of the day, hot buttered rolls, salad, dessert, coffee, tea and water. Hardin County Fluorspar Festival celebrates the influences brought to the area by the Fluorspar Mining Companies. Located on the banks of the Ohio River. Rosiclare (once known as the “Fluorspar Capital”), has a colorful history that revolved around this mineral. Each year, the Festival highlights and brings back memories of days gone by. Held on the first weekend in October in Downtown Rosiclare, the Festival features an ever-growing list of activities and things to do, including a Queen’s Pageant, a carnival, hickory-smoked barbeque, a pet parade, kid’s games, karoke, food and craft vendors, a quilt show, an open-house at the American Fluorite Museum, a car, truck and motorcycle show and a large parade featuring local school bands, groups, floats, a Grand Marshall and horse clubs. Local musical talent will also be on hand and the finale is held Saturday evening at the City Park on the Ohio River.

Herrick Lions Club 4th of July Celebration

Highwood's 5th Annual Garlic Fest
This fun, food-filled event showcases the ever-popular taste of Garlic. Attendees come to sample a variety of garlic creations from out-of-the-ordinary garlic ice cream, candy, cupcakes and cocktails, to the more usual pastas, sauces, breads, and butters. Held during the Evening Market, the fest features a Taste of Garlic Competition for the Savory and Sweet categories, as well as the very popular Garlic Queen and Princess Competitions. Hill Prairie Winery is nestled in the Sangamon River Valley outside of Oakford IL. near New Salem State Park where Abraham Lincoln settled in Illinois as a young man. Hill Prairie is owned and operated by the Lounsberry Family and is complete with a vineyard and beautiful views of restored Illinois Prairie. Hill Prairie produces and bottles a wide selection of wines from dry to sweet and all in between. The tasting room and banquet facility are housed in a renovated turn of the century barn that celebrated one hundred years in 2011. What started as a retail shop in the small farm town of Homer, has expanded into a national wholesale soda distributor. Shop hundreds of flavors of soda in this adorable little shop located on Homer's main drag. Pick up anything from the classic orange soda to bacon and cherry infused, so you get as creative as you like. While you'll see these sodas at restaurants and shops all over town, there's nothing better than picking these up right from the distributor.
This u-pick orchard features 14 varieties of apples, plus rhubarb and raspberries. The Homestead's store is located in a century-old horse barn, stocked with homemade honey, candles, dried flowers, dried apple chips and more.
