20th Annual Historic Cemetery Walk
Follow a guide through one of Galena's oldest cemeteries while costumed re-enactors bring to life some of the most interesting residents in this historic cemetery. Being portrayed this year are various notable Galenians. The last portion of the presentation will be titled “The Widows of Galena” and will highlight the lives of four Galena widows as they discuss the social conventions and attitudes of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Barn Quilts of Dewitt County
Barn quilts of DeWitt County is a project designed to celebrate Clinton and DeWitt County’s rich agricultural history, showcase our rural areas, promote agritourism, the arts, and create a sense of community pride. Throughout the county, vibrant, hand-painted 8’X8’ quilt blocks on ‘wooden canvases’ adorn numerous barns, making a drive through the countryside all the more enjoyable.

In 2014, the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust's internationally renowned annual housewalk will be an ALL WRIGHT event, featuring interior architectural tours of eight private homes and three public buildings all designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Tour the private residences that Wright designed for his friends and neighbors in Oak Park, Illinois, which boasts the greatest concentration of Wright buildings in the world. Learn about the clients who recognized genius and took a chance on the young architect. Trace Wright's development as an artists. And share an enjoyable day with visitors from around the world. The special architectural housewalk will mark the 125th anniversary of the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio and the 40th anniversary of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. Join us for this extraordinary experience, celebrating architecture, design, history and Frank Lloyd Wright's unique contribution in the place where it all began 125 years ago!

Quincy Preserves Behind Closed Doors Home Tour
Spring beauty in Quincy is welcomed by the annual Quincy Preserves home tours. Held the first Sunday in May accompanied by the annual Dogwood Festival. Homes are adorned with plants and blooming trees in the yards and gardens. Tour 6 homes in Quincy from 1-5pm. Tickets are available at the door of each home for $15 per person or $12 in advance.
Experienced birder, knowledgeable about a variety of birding habitats in the Galena/Jo Daviess County Area, offers guided field trips on selected Saturdays. Private trips available by appointment.
