River View Retreat
Enjoy your visit to Nauvoo in this nearly 1700 square foot retreat with a large deck and fantastic view of the Mississippi River! Only two miles from the LDS Visitor’s Center, this home is close to the restored homes and businesses of Old Nauvoo, including the temple, yet secluded as a retreat from the hustle bustle of touring. This 4 bedroom home sleeps up to sixteen including the cabin located on the property. The home has two bedrooms on the main floor, each with a queen bed, and a master suite upstairs with a queen bed and full size sofa sleeper. In addition, there is a full size bed in the loft bedroom, plus a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. The large kitchen will provide the appliances and kitchen needs for a large family, and the kids will love the spiral stairway to the upstairs, in addition to the regular stair access. Two bathrooms on the main floor (one with shower only, the other with a bath/shower combination) and a washer and dryer are also available for guest’s use, and the home is air conditioned for comfort. This home also includes high speed internet access and Dish TV. The deck is a great place for a bar-b-q and entertaining as guests enjoy the view of the nearby Mississippi River. The optional cabin, with skylight, air conditioning and electric heat, contains two bunk beds.

The Rufus Abbott Manor affords you the opportunity to stay in a Nauvoo Mormon Pioneer home! This historic home is just seven blocks from the Nauvoo Temple and sleeps up to ten comfortably. This home feels and looks like what it may have in the 1840’s thus letting you ‘Sleep Where the Pioneer’s Slept’. The original pioneer brick home has three bedrooms (two upstairs) and an old fashioned parlor with library, collectible curio cabinet, historic fireplace and mantle, and a queen size sofa sleeper. The sun porch also contains a breakfast bar with toaster and microwave for our guests. The master suite is on the main level in a 1903 addition to the original brick home. This large suite has a king size bed, full-size sofa sleeper, armoire, and 32” flat screen TV.

Spring Lake Park in Macomb, IL. has three different singletrack trails ranging in intermediate to difficult. At 10 miles in length this park has a nice smattering of everything an adrenaline junky would want. The trails here are tight in some spots with a few ladder bridges, log piles and even a teeter-totter, and the hills just keep coming with jumps that make you feel weightless.

This one hour musical play tells the story of life in the early 1840s, as immigrants came up the Mississippi River to Nauvoo on the Maid of Iowa, a beautiful little paddle-wheeler. You’ll laugh at the antics of young Eli, thrill at the dancing and music, and feel the depth of devotion of these early settlers in Nauvoo as they face the martyrdom of their leader, and the violent and dangerous exodus from their homes in the middle of winter. Tickets are free but required for admission.
